Aim looking for work, who want's to take someone in with teeth missing and broken. I never before had a hole in my life in almoast 1 year ( I ve got a sort of sickness that I have to throw up for days and the acid of it made my teeth rotten) all this happend and I cant go to the dentist, cause I cant pay him. This is a horrible circle and I feel like I will never look normal again...

I am sorry that you are having trouble with your teeth but your problem does not sound like dentail problem, it sounds more like a medical or emotional problem (eating disorder). You may not get the nutrition that your body needs. I would worry about other problems you could have, calcium defeincy, heart problems, acid reflex is what the surgeon thinks caused my brothers esophigus cancer. I would go to the doctor as soon as possible and find out what the the problem is. It sounds like you...

If your tooth lose is due to a medical condition your regular insurance may cover it. good luck.

@Alice...she couldnt afford dental and now has lost of her teeth and the ones that are lef are rotting. How is that not a dental prolem? Even now with proper care, she would likely lose the rest of her teeth but be able to get dentures. Martina, I am so sorry and hope you are able to get the care you need, and dont be ashamed to show your smile...I bet it is beautiful :)

In our country (the USA) people shouldn't have to go without medical or dental care.

Same almost happened to me, I spent 5 years in GREAT need of dental care. I suffered various infections and other health complications due to that. By the month of June, 2012, I was able to get "some" dental care. And I pray that EVERY person gets AT LEAST basic care because it is so important for our health, not receiving it is so really dangerous, OMG! One suggestion from me is that IF ALL those "volunteer" dentists who "fixed" people's teeth on TV just to show up, do some basic treatments...

Instead of volunteering for just one big dental job, to do basic to various people. And HELLO!, if the health Department and government must distribute the money in a better way, things will be easier for all.

I have no Medical or Dental coverage! Too expensive. Not old enough for medicare. People below the poverty line without dependent children should be elegible for help!

I felt its time for me to post this comment now -- the dental and medical health issues are just getting bigger.
and as well as the American debt -- come on now! pharmaceutical and medical companies give us little guys a break and not be so greedy.

I am a married man and father of two little girls.
I have had no dental care for sixteen years due to the fact that the cost of said care does not equate to wages provided to the average citizen.
I have lost jobs before due to dental infections that were so bad I missed work.
For those that have bad infections, go to the emergency room, they will provide help in life threatening infections with an antibiotic shot that will save your life.
Bottom line is this:
Either the cost of said care...

Either the cost of said care must come down or wages must go up, there is no other way for the dental/healthcare system to work.

Maybe if parents tried actual parenting 101 and didn't let their kids stuff themselves with junk food, candy, sugary, sweet sodas, and crap, they wouldn't HAVE half the health problems like tooth decay and childhood obesity that is rampent in our country! Don't blame it on politicians (NOT that I am their biggest fan) but instead blame the PARENTS who take the laid back lazy attitude "Oh well, they will only go out and get it themselves!" Yeah, so do Heroine addicts! Except we have a nation...

Yeah, so do Heroine addicts! Except we have a nation full of over weight, sick children with health problems they should NEVER be developing at such a young age. Like DIABETES! Heart conditions, extreme obesity, and early gum disease/tooth loss! Try blaming it on McDonalds, Burger King and all the other easy ways to raise kids today instead of having REAL home made food like WE grew up with. And two parents working is NOT an excuse! My parents did it and so do many of my generation's friends. I have friends that run BUSINESSES and have the 1/2 hours' time to feed their children properly! It's so easy to blame everybody else!

Anticonvulsants, used to control seizures also rots a persons teeth. Not everyone with teeth problems have those problems because of diet issues. For you conservative republicans out there, let me talk your language for a minute. If you prevent dental problems to begin with, it is not nearly as expensive as when you wait for them to rot first, and then have to do root canals on everything, put caps in, or get dentures. I know, I had the effects in my own mouth of being on...

I know, I had the effects in my own mouth of being on anticonvulsants for seizures all my life, having it rot my teeth, and then not be able to go to the dentist for 10 years, because I was too poor to go to the dentist, and my state, Arizona, has decided that dental care and vison care for people on AHCCCS (our medicaid program), are extas and expendible.

I can tell you, not ALL of the medical profession is only in it for the money. There are much easier ways to make money and not spend 100s of thousands of dollars getting there. I can tell you, not ALL of the medical profession is only in it for the money. There are much easier ways to make money and not spend 100s of thousands of dollars getting there. As a family physician, I am more concerned with the health and well-being of my patients than I am with how much I get paid to take care of them. Family doctors are the lowest paid in the medical profession almost accross the board. I new this when I chose my specialty and I still wouldn't do anything else. Most new family physicians also have to worry about how they will pay back their ever increasing school loan debt with medicare/medicaid cuts to reimbursement, which is also an issue for dentists. I agree, insurance is way too expensive and something must be done, especially when the companies don't give your doctor nearly what you expect with how much you pay them. Something, therefore, must also be done to improve payment for physicians, especially those who spend time with their patients. One of the best ways I've heard is to force Congress members to give up their health and dental benefits and force them to purchase their own. I wonder how fast things might change then?
