My granddaughter is 6 years old and is on United Health Care, Kid Med through Medicaid. Her Mother works but doesn't have health or dental care. She needs to go to the dentist, but we can not find a dentist that will accept a 6 yr old for Kid Med...they stop taking kids at age 4. Now, does that make sense to ANYONE? Most dental problems for children don't start until after age 4 and that's the cutoff age! Someone please explain this!
always someone who likes to throw a WRENCH into the works...
Thank you so much for this petition. I have wondered for quite awhile what is going on with the lack of dental care in this country. I see so many people missing teeth. Its crazy we havwe this in this country. Even trying to get dental coverage via insurance is just about impossible. I have tried as self-employed. Even with these plans the costs are outrageous. I too have lost my back teeth as couldn't afford care and it got worse over the years. I used to have a denist who would take...
I used to have a denist who would take payment plans and then stopped doing it even when I never missed a payment and always paid my bill off.
I have to laugh when I think about teeth in red states. It's even hard to find a date with all their front teeth in Republican areas of Colorado.
just like medical care, dental has been corrupted as a result of capitalism. Its all about the money, not the human life in our country. Only certain classes of individuals have access to quality healthcare and they are a minority.
Like all our Congress men and women, the ones who decide what the rest of us get. By the way, taxpayer dollars pay for their care. Insane!
The dentist told me, "It will cost you $14,000 for me to fix your teeth." I'm glad he had the training he did--but I paid that much for a graduate degree and can't find work--or get my teeth fixed at those prices.
We are in the same boat. Masters Degrees, deboted pur lives snd careers to helping other people, but my husband has painful, horrible teeth. Yhough he works with the public, he is too embsrassed to smile. It is not fair that good Americsns can't afford to get thrir teeth fixed.
My family does not have dental insurance and my husband, myself and my two kids need major dental work done and we can't afford it.
and ur neighbor too!!!!!
I saw this story on Frontline. Everyone hates to go to the dentist because of huge costs. I love the 6 month check up , but not the oh your 35 year old filling is cracking and it will cost 2800 to get 1 tooth fixed- they have you over a barrel.
and on top of that there is a dentist shortage.
Let's help one another, c'mon people. Fight the power! United we stand, devided, we fall.
Thanks Vern. This was really terrible. I wonder how many other cases there are that just go unreported? This should NEVER happen in America!
You are most welcome.
DENTAL CARE IS WORSE THEN AMERICAS HEALTH PLAN , People suffer to much cause of greed.
1000 dollars for one tooth ,if you are a craftsman doing work for a dr or dentist charge them ten times what you would charge someone who is not one i have
greed does not have any thing to do with it sir. its a thing called money if you don't have it that is not greed mr blacksmith. i thank god you don't have to go throu that u should to . may god bless you sir.
Please sign...this is a very important issue to me, as I too do not have and cannot afford dental insurance, nor very much needed dental work. Thank you!
me too and i signed
Why don't we have access to dental care via insurance as we do medical care?
When did Americans lose their basic care and consideration for others? Surely not all in the medical profession are in it only for as much money as they can get out of the pain and suffering of others! Not all poor people are malingers, looking to get something for nothing. Basic care should be denied to no-one.
Blame it on the Bush Administration to ruin our country. People are crazy here and so angry.
May be even further back, we can date it to Margaret Thatcher's 'No such thing as society' so does Ronald Reagan's legacy need scrutinising?
