I dont think I have heard of anyone getting paid for donating an organ, and I would hope I never will. I know when money is involved greed, black market or bad things would take the love of another human life and make it a scandal. I can not give an organ or one of my favorite people would still be with us. I say leave money out of it and keep the love in it. I mean saving a life from something from you--wow how great your heart must feel. NO is my vote.

Organ donning saves lives and hopefully you never need one, but if you were to need a transplant to live I'm sure you would be eternally grateful to the generous donor. If we all donated we would all have a greater opportunity of survival if the need arose. Even though I think this should be an altruistic gift, I think increased health care benefits would be a good incentive.

I am an organ donar, I do not agree with paying people for their organs, but if you were after their organs when they pass away, maybe it could help the family decide, that its in everyones best interest to donate the deceaseds organs. As it seems unfortunately cash incentive works these days.

being a donor comes from the heart, there should be no price attached to it.

I am opposed to organ donation. It is the thin end of a wedge which is already seeing parents engineer embryos to provide body parts/bodily fluids for siblings. This is not right. We will all die at some point. Some will just die sooner than others. The trade in human organs and the industry which has grown up around it is, in my view, wrong and I would prefer not to be part of it nor to support it in any way.

I think that people need to distinguish between a LIVING donor and a deceased donor in this thread. Living donors take on risks, risk not getting health insurance, etc... Living donors are the means to getting more people off of dialysis. Of course, there are "deceased" donors as well. So, the comments should be more specific.

I think living donors should get their hospital bill paid plus something for their trouble. I don't care how much of a "hero" a living donor is - there is a medical danger involved. It would be nice to know if I donated a kidney that at least I could pay my hospital bill. That's reality not morality.

NO, THEY ARE A GIFT FROM GOD, NOT AN ITEM YOU PICK UP AT A LOCAL STORE, YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH YOUR OWN SELF IF YOU SELL THEM. NOW DONATING, THAT's DIFFERENT, I GIVE BLOOD AND WOULD NOT TAKE A PENNY FOR IT, NOW HERE IS THE FLIP SIDE, IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER WHO DONATES THEIR ORGANS THAT's FINE, DONATE, KEY WORD, JUST LOOK AT WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE WORLD TODDAY WITH SOME MANY WRONG DECISIONS, TODAY, FOR ME PRAYER IN SCHOOL REMOVED, PRAYER BEFORE MEALS, WHERE DO WE DRAW THE LINE? WHO IS...
