I can't remember a time that I didn't go to the public library at least once a month!

I've had one since I was 4. My daughter and her family moved back here very recently and they all have cards now. Long live the libraries!

You'd been doing a great injustice if you don't expose your child/children to the library. Reading a book to them would be one of the most memorable times in their lives.

My daughter is a librarian so I know how tough it has been with budgert cuts. I've had a library card since childhood.

A book feels right in your hands...anywhere.

I already have a card, and I use my library every week, I think the new borrowing/returning books system takes some of the 'personal' touch away however, there's not nearly as much interaction with the staff now, & I feel that that's a great shame, as the staff play an important part.

I work at our local library. The hardest thing for me is restricting the number of books I check out! My kids are avid readers; I'm the mom who has to take the flashlights away at 2am. Libraries are great for accessing internet, computer usage, lending of books, cds, dvds, audiobooks. It's a great place to meet people who share your interest in reading. My fav library service in Inter Library Loans - if our local library doesn't have it, they order it from another library! Libraries are the cornerstone of healthy and vibrant communities.

I am a qualified librarian and I love reading and also encourage reading culture in my organisation for research and development.
