Almost every person I know has one.. I have two!
The first words that ALLAH "GOD" tells his Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) in the Koran is.
«READ». From here, we dedicate that reading and education in general are the light that t will enlighten our world and guide us to a better world where there is love, respect and prosperity for everybody on this plane.
I hope this also counts those that already have one, well if I move (I plan to do so eventually) I will get a library card to where I relocate to.
I've had a library card since preschool, but I'll sign this anyway.
I prefer real books I love holding and turning a page and the smell and cover of each one, there is nothing like the look of a real book with beautiful writing on each page to make me want to look after and care for that book like a lost friend..a electronic book or anything on a screen does not have the same appeal to me..
I can't see the need for electronic "books". The humble real book is fine. Irreplaceable in my view. Electronic books for the disabled is one thing but other than that, I just can't see the need.
Margo, I feel the same about music. Nothing like holding a physical album in your hand and having the cover art or having a box set. Long live real books and real albums!
K agree Peter I have LPs ans Singles and CDs I just like to physically hold certain things as it makes feel like I am actually doing something, otherwise I would feel that everything is to easy or lazy..
5 library card holders in my family of 5!
Libraries will keep our kids off the street if we can get them to read! I for one love to read and so does my son, it opens up a whole new world!
Libraries are the stohre house of knowledge for the children. The books help them to soar their imagination higher and higher towards the sun.
So much incidental learning takes place by actually picking up a book hence let's keep the libraries
A reading nation is no doubt a leading nation!!!
We must not do to our libraries as what is happening to our Post offices due to less mail.
I have my library card and I use it many times, but I do need to use it more... Our libraries are being hurt by the new technology of e-book downloads & our libraries is an essential organization for all ages...
As an English teacher for 30 years, I cannot express the joy I found sharing my love for books. Books got me through the death of my mother, the hot summers of adolescence, and the sweet moments of motherhood. Lets keep our libraries open and available for the future generations!
Me, too -- I remember when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, we lived in rural Indiana and the bookmobile would come to our street -- I looked SO forward to that day every two weeks -- I would pore over EVERY title and carefully make my selections --
