It, s always a problem to get money to take care of veteran, not a problem to get money to send us to war.. I entered the U.S.Army in 1970 didn't smoke or drink. I was told I wasn't a man if I didn't smoke and drink. I never like the taste of Alcohol but I am a smoker trying to quiet. I still hear the sergeant saying lite them up if u got them or ask a friend.. We no the Military receive money to push cigarettes on us.When the Department of Veteran affairs receive money to pay Vet for long term smoking addiction. They gave us nothing.. People live good in this Country only because we as defender of American go far away to stop any drama from hitting home land.. 9/11 was nothing like what we go thru for this Country who dump us after their done with us. Thank you USA for years of pain and suffering, can't pay my bills stress from month to month with my medical problem no one to help me care for myself.. It crazy a women can turn 18 have as many baby as she want get housing food stamp a check and everything. We fought with city Counsel to help our female Vet coming home with nothing family gone husband with someone else the same problem us men have been having forever. Marion Berry saved many of us from being homeless. A sad system of Government.

My oldest boy was over in Afghanastan for a year and I and my family are so thankful he and his comrades made it home alive. He is now living with us. We are there for him now during his transition into the civilian world. I know there are jobs out there and the real question determines the bottom line of willingness to do whatever it takes to take any job to survive in this economical struggle we face. Good luck to all and know there is help out there. We thank you for putting your lives...

Silently, without our praise, these brave young men and women answer the call of freedom. They sacrifice their lives, limbs and time never looking for praise or glory. They are the reason we continue to live in the greatest country in the world. Our politicians need to give them more than empty promises. "Thank You" to all soldiers and God Bless you. Ne ver Forget them.

A soldier's story does not end when his weapon is no longer in his hands or desert sand under his feet. When he or she returns home it continues.

Our veterans deserve the full support of the US of A. They should be put first when it comes to programs to help with their and their families needs. Stop the foreign aid and fully support out veterans, now. We are free to voice our opinions and concerns because of a ll those who have served and are serving in the uniforms of the US of A military. God bless you my heroes.

It is not only the young veterans. I want you all to read this. The young veterans of todays wars would be in the same boat if it wasn't for the Viet-Nam veteran. We are the ones who stopped our government from paying disabled Afghan and Iraqi veterens lump sums then denying them treatment because our government didn't want the cost. We are the ones who fought for them and the Korean veterans for recognition of various diseases, medals, and PTSD. Hell! We are still fighting to get what was...

Hell! We are still fighting to get what was promised to us by our government. Our government treats the people of Viet-Nam better than us. Like to the tune of $55, 000,000,000 (+) dollars. (That's correct. Bet you didn't know that did you?) We were the ones who our own government killed most of us at the age of 19 and up due to Agents Orange, Blue, and White exposure and our obituaries always say something else killed us or nothing at all. Maybe you all would realize what has been done to us if the newspapers said,"Mr. So and So was killed by the United States Government using a weapon known as Agent Orange." We are the ones who pushed for the recognition that the newest combat vets exposed to depleted uranium from our tank and artillery shell are suffering from those effects. What did you do?
That's us. The COMBAT VETERANS OF THE VIET-NAM WAR. Still walking "point" for America.
You enjoy the freedom of speech, of worshipping God in your own way, the freedom of movement, just plain freedom. You enjoy, supposedly, God given rights that among them consist of man is created equal. the right to bear arms, the privledge of voting, of driving your own vehicle. Isn't that corect.
Who gave you all of this. Not God and it sure as hell was never the United States Government. It was me and millions like me who FOUGHT in comba for you and this country! t.
The combat Viet-Nam vet saw more combat action in one year than any other veteran in any other war before Viet-Nam and after to include the War on Terrorism.
Who do you think opened American's arms to welcome the new veterans back home. We did. Because we shamed the American people to do so by saying to them, " Don't do to them as you did to us."
We are not asking for special treatment. We are not, nor ever asked, for a "Welcome Home" from any American. It was to late for that when Americans did. Most "combat" vets stayd away from the Welcome Home parades because in reality it meant not a damn thing to us. We are the ONLY Army that bought and paid for our own memorial and the ground it sits on in our nations capital.
What we ask for is to keep the promises that were made to us when we either enlisted or were drafted. ( By the way. That draft thing. More enlistees served willingly in Viet-Nam than draftees.I bet you all didn't know that either.) To not lie to us and hide the truth about what our own government did to us knowing full well what would happen to us. We were dead men walking at 19 years of age thanks to Uncle Sam. Our own government did not even attemptinvestigate scientificaly as to what was killing us. ( There have been more deaths from Agent Orange than any combat deaths that occurred during the Viet-Nam War) Austrailia did!
I am not a radical, unless telling the truth means that is what you are, but a Viet-Nam veteran who received three Purple Hearts ( and could have been awardedr more but refused them, decorated for Valor, Heroism, and Gallantry 16 times and also five more Vietnamese awards for the same reasons over a course of three years starting in January, 1968 through January, 1971.
We did our duty. We not only fought for you, our country, the Vietnamese people, but for ourselves and those who became our brothers.
Support this cause because I know of none other that is or ever will be so nobel.
One last thing.
While most American men and women, to include those adults of today who were not even thought of back then, were /are out chasing the American dream it was the men and women of the American Armed Forces who kept your worst nightmares away.
I'd try to remember that and them and just not two days a year if even then.
Thank you.
