BAN THE POORLY BRED HUMANS - NOT THE BREED! New Zealand sorely needs to do their homework before considering this egregiously misguided legislation. Please see the following article: National Canine Research Council - Breed-specific Legislation (BSL) FAQS

it s not fair for an animal to be mistreated and pre-judged for their appearance and/or breed.

National President RNZSPCA (in New Zealand), is regularly quoted in the mainstream media and shown in person on TV in prime time telling our public that “All Pit Bulls are born bad” and advising people not to take them into their homes. This is shameful that he is promoting such fallacy! Pit bulls are used as therapy dogs visiting hospital patients, pit bulls are used in reading programs where school children read to them, pit bulls are fire fighter and police officiers mascots. Why? Because of their gentle, patient, and loyal natures.

We've just adopted a sweet girl from Cleveland's death row. She is part pit and the most darling pup you'd ever meet. She is great with everyone - even cats. We were a little concerned at first because of all the media hype (we've never known any pits before) but one look at her face (Urgent Ohio Dogs) and we fell in love; we knew she was our dog.

Cherie congratulations on your new dog! You know you followed your heart instead of the media hype and by doing so you not only saved a life, you ganined an exceptional dog! Tell your story with some photos of your new precious girl on facebook. Your story is a powerful one that the general public can relate to and your story could save other precious girls like your own pit mix!!!

r.i.p lennox hope we can get justice eventually dogs shouldn't b discriminated by their breed, its like racicsm.

It's never the dog, always the owner. Although in this case I understand that lennox was taken away for no reason other than his looks. So what, should we take all the dangerous 'looking' people off the earth and put them down for no reason other than being judged by their cover? I don't think so. This is disgraceful. People need better education and to stop being so judgemental!

By the way I don't know how much this event can help NZ or Belfast or any place else, if anywhere, but it's an effort to unite pit bull advocates/rescues/owners everywhere to stand together and do more than just speak up. By the way I don't know how much this event can help NZ or Belfast or any place else, if anywhere, but it's an effort to unite pit bull advocates/rescues/owners everywhere to stand together and do more than just speak up. There is a Facebook page titled Coast to Coast Bully Walk where nearly a thousand people have come to join to be counted among those who will organize or participate in a Bully Walk in their area on October 27th, 2012 (National Pit Bull Awareness Day). If you want to be a part of this, add your voice to ours and put you pit bull where you mouth is so to speak, come over and like the page. Then fill out the form to get onto the spreadsheet where you can find others in your area who are interested in coordinating or participating in a bully walk in your area.

This is 100% a 'grass roots' movement designed to get everyone who has a pit bull and/or any shelter/rescue that needs to find a home for a pit bull out there with our dogs to SHOW people what kind of folks have pit bulls and what sort of dogs pit bulls are when in the hands of responsible owners. Our goal is simply to make a bold, loud, clear, calm statement about this issue of BSL and the media propaganda that influences and supports BSL.

Check out the Facebook page and fill out the form: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEJ4OUVXT09nc09iSzhrZkYyZE1JT3c6MQ#gid=0.
