I was a victim of domestic violence, but was able to walk away from it. Although I spent several years wondering if he would shoot me in the dark one night, I was lucky. So many women don't have that luck.
I know that feeling too...
I am glad you got away! I spent 10 years in an abusive relationship. When I got out..he followed..but I put him in the state pen for 7 years!
I never went through this type of behavior watching my back...but I am aware, i have seen and it scares me.Allah bles you all for being survivors.
mam i am egyptian and i live in egypt . i agree with u that . and it must be stopped . but i believe that v.a.w is internationally committed . thats the nature dear if two men fought each other the weak will lose thus ladies have to make the wise choice about her bed mate or her opponent .
May the Almighty grant such strength to all the victims of Domestic Violence.............and may He enlighten the minds of those men who keep abusing and bruising there partners instead of utilising there physical strength in protecting them...........!
Hope someday these morons will learn to respect a women's heart..............and thus behave more like a Human than an animal...........even animals are better than these suckers 'cause they atleast protect their own clan!
God bless such creatures!
Traci Tucker U broke the ice with him good for u. Jail is where he need and should be. Good luck.
I grew up watching this kind of abuse betweenmy parents and i want all women to sign this peition,it i inportant!!!!!!!
As a teacher and Dean for Boys, I don't teach science, I teach children...the whole child. We have 4 core values and respect is one of them. Teaching children at a young age to respect each other is just the beginning. What is learned at home is brought to school, and what is learned at school is brought home. Each of us can make a difference. "Pay it forward".
We might need more teachers like you. Thanks for making a difference.
It took a while, but I finally found my calling...thank you.
I signed it Kathleen...Male abusers are the biggest punks on the planet... F**K those weak bastards!
Thank You Sam! Love and miss you. Hope all is well with you!
You go Sammy but I agree with you. Tell us how you really feel!!

Not acceptable in society...Not now....Not ever...Children are often witness to this and perpetuate the cycle of violence as they see it as acceptable.......The time to stop is now.`·.¸.·´.

Women Against VAWA Excess – WAVE – is dedicated to exposing how the Violence Against Women Act has veered away from its original intended purpose to stop domestic violence. Now, VAWA has come to embrace a radical ideology that marginalizes true victims, harms families, and betrays the ideals of equality feminism.
WAVE invites persons to visit its website, which features articles by Wendy McElroy, Anna Rittgers, and others: http://womenagainstvawa.org/.

They also need to look at rehabilitating these people so that when they get out they don't do it again. Some of them don't truly know what they are doing so nothing changes if nothing changes. Sad fact is though that if it costs money they can't do it! Lives don't really matter to the powers that be! Just money!
Sad, but true. Men shoot wildlife for many reasons, but if someone is a violent offender against WOMEN, well then apparently that's okay with the far right side of politics. God forbid our government work together for the betterment of our country.
Who can do that...except a weak man using his arms instead of his brain...This is a call to all mothers to raise men treating women as ladies.
and a call to men to grow up and take responsibility for their own actions.
man is the son ,the father, the brother etc....but woman as a mother could give more attention to her baby boy about implementing good ideas about HOW TO TREAT A LADY...
The father could also be an example in treating HIS BABY BOY'S mother in good manner...Any ethics start from home : it is not in books...
I live in the state of WEST VIRGINIA and there are no resorces for women and the law here just puts on a front as if they care but they really don't care about it and neither do the police. The police will tell you if you don't like it then leave. The judges always tell you that you don't have any proof and they ask you why do you stay instead of ask the abuser why are you beating on this person. They always blame the victim. It is not only congress that this needs to know but also law enforcement and the judges that are put on the bench.
I too am located in WV and their are resources they just don't make them known for these women. Domestic Violence is at it's all time high in our state yet nothing is being done. 70 indictments released for my county yesterday over half were domestic related! That is out of control!
The resources are limited and most of the time they return home to thier abusers....I have checked in to it for ppl and it is a dead end there is nothing when you ask the ppl who work at these places for help there is no funding and the system is disigned to break families apart.I am keeping it real in my findings.now if you know of the resources let me know so i can share it with the ppl who are in need.
GLAD TO GET BEHIND THIS PETITION!
Glad to be a part. Something that needs more attention. My life mission!!!
Let's bring awareness to stalking too. Every woman needs to watch the Tracy Thurman story, hope I spelled the name right!!
Domestic violence needs to be stopped. We need to raise future generations with maturity and The Truth.
We need to raise our children with the knowledge and maturity of real men and women do not resort to violence in relationships. They are to build each other up, strengthen and support each other. As iron sharpens iron, a man and a woman are to grow in strength, love, respect, commitment and accountability to God.
AMEN! I am glad to see I am not the only one who thinks this too. :D
what man of GOD you r .
Yes its got to stop and we are only ones that can do it.
Phyllis Rutkowski We need more women to come forward, to many take this abuse and keep quiet for reason of care support and most of all FEAR no one should live in fear it needs to stop..
I believe that all PEOPLE should be protected & valued, including vulnerable populations. This includes children, elderly, mentally &/or physically challenged people, etc. It saddens me that women, who make up almost half of the world's population, are vulnerable. I have seen such horrors, both personally & professionally. It is a sad reality that people violate, abuse, hurt & even kill others. Reality is very difficult. We need to support each other to strengthen each other.
Sadly, I know more people that have been victims of abuse than those who have not. This includes myself. People do not deserve to be hurt, beaten, abused, traumatized. Nobody does.
