These men & women has gone to war for U.S.A to fight for our Freedom it doesn't matter if they were drafted or signed up on their own. They either have come back alive or have died in action. They all fought for their country & deserve the best care & help because they've earned it! Without good U.S.A. Military Foces we'd have no Freedom that we all enjoy & should be thankful for! That was then & this is now & they're still over seas fighting for our Freedom! Put yourselves in their shoes & understand! Aloha from HI.

I have severe depression and although I don't have a service dog, I do have a dog. Eli has gotten me through all my tough times including several family/freinds deaths and even helped me through my struggles when I went back to school at the age of 50! Dogs work miracles for those who let them love.

They will keep you fit as they are always eager to go running/walking/cycling, etc. with you. They are unlike human companions who often give excuses for missing the excercise session with you. We ALL know the benefits of excercise for ANY mental illness.

I am a wife of a Soldier of 21 years and a mother of a soldier who is leaving next week and I have and will support all our men and women and they should be able to have what ever they need to help them threw as they put their life on the line for all of us and never complain about it. I have 4 pugs and they give me joy and happiness I believe a pet would bring the same to a soldier in need.

As a veteran of the Armed Services of the United States, as well as someone who has witnessed firsthand the effects of PTSD and a veteran who has advocated the positive impact of service animals on those who indeed suffer "oftentimes in silence", assure you, without question, that the advantages of pilot programs sponsored by the military and reaching out to all service members, city and rural areas where such need exists; and, perhaps using program guidelines from operations such as the canine training by prisoners program, would benefit these soldiers in need much more than medication. Unconditional love is a mighty force and our troops in need deserve such a force for all they have given in defense of freedom just as the animals in shelters or otherwise unwanted deserve to know love and companionship.
