I am struggling with the VA right now with my PTSD Service Dog...they are waiting on a 'ruling' that does not reflect the current Title 38 Section 1714, Public Law 2009. Hopefully they will get their act together soon!

God bless and let's hope they do!! It is LONG OVERDUE!!! Thank you so much for your service and sacrifice. I am the mother of a son who committed suicide because of PTSD. He served in Iraq in 2003/2004. I pray you will do everything you can to take care of yourself!

Ramon J. Montoya I replied with an answer...but it looks like they deleted it. Guess we are to just sign the petition and not inform people about whats really going on. I'll post on my WWP Discussion: PTSD Service Dog what I originally had here.

Ya think? I've always stuck by my theory...that a spiritual and/or a trustworthy connection, is far better than anything clinical.

animals are great company for humans, if it helps the kids or adults who have autism, down syndrome, blind, deaf or any have health issues, why not for our heros who served for our country....

I have always had a strong and close tie to MANY if not all of the pets I have shared my life with. They have brought to me a wonderful sense of companionship and love that all owners should have. I have even had a black cat that I named "Miff" that I deemed a "Familiar" because he was my shoulder cat. "Miff" went with me everywhere I went with the exception of my job. Undeniably the best and most loving animal companion I had ever had! I miss him...:-(

I have a client that is involved in a program, pairing training of service dogs with veterans who are suffering from PTSS. It is a wonderful program and the stories that I have heard about it are amazing. I also know about the kinds of positive mental effects that my dog has on me. Let's get the Department of Veterans Affairs to implement this program. In many cases, it works where drugs do not. It is a much better cause than having our government continue to give away our tax dollars...

I am also an example of one who has benefitted from having a service dog following trauma from deployment. I was recently featured in the NY Times because of the results of having a service dog. This would be a beneficial change for many vets in need. Please sign this petition to help bring service dogs into the VA as a form of treatment for PTSD and other mental illnesses affecting veterans.
