DOG is GOD spelled backward! God gave us dogs to be our healing companions!
My son had PTSD and it took the US Army 5 years to get around to doing more than 2 therapy sessions for him. In fact, other than diagnosing him, they did nothing more for 3 years, until he was sent to a VA hospital after numerous problems with the police. Vets need to be diagnosed, treated and followed up and if this program offers some therapy, it is much more than he had.
I believe the dogs give them something else to focus on. Giving love unconditionally to one another. God Bless this cause and the soldiers/dog duos.
A dog's love might be the best kind, I couldn't live w/o my dog. She's the one that brings joy in my life whenever I'm down.
