My nephew threw a soda bottle out of my car window once. I pulled the car over and made him walk back to retrieve it. When he got back in the car I told him that he ever did that again, I was going to have him spend his weekend picking up garbage in our community. He's never repeated that mistake.
The world needs lessons like this. A majority just don't care though unfortunately
Growing up in the 50's and 60's anything my brothers and I threw on the ground,my mother made us pick it up and dispose of it properly.Found myself doing the same with my son.Pop bottles could be returned to the local store for 2 cents each back then.Beer bottles were 10 cents each.
I remember those days too Eileen.
Way to go Barbara! I totally agree on how you handled that with your nephew ! On the job training (so to speak) that makes children truly learn these lessons !
Jay Piskura i like your wife-smart lady
In Canada we still have deposits on many of our bottles. This is great, but we need to educate educate educate. keep doing what you're doing, it's great.
tempo per pensare.
And before we know it, we are also eating plastic... this is disgusting and alarming, this mountain of plastic is twice the size of the USA. And we won't see it disappear in our life time, as a simple plastic bottle takes more than 300 years to decompose... (make the math..).
I get so upset seeing how people in shops get a plastic bag for every little thing they buy which they could easily put in their normal bag or even pockets instead... shop keepers most of the times don't even ask if you actually need it or not... agrrr
Time to do the clean up.....
It may already be too late..
We cannot stop the pressure!
.....as a kid and up to the age of 19-20 yrs. old, me and my Cuz Teddy had a boat at the Santa monica pier. Under neath the walk above. You could barely know the small boats were down there. Anyways, some of my best times were talking our small boat out and go fishing. This plastic sh-t floating out there, not bad at that time. Now it's a real problem. Just recycle, or give it to me and I'll take it down, I could use they money! :-) You know how to get ahold of me. Have a great day!
Time to wake up! Hora de acordar!
don't re use toxic plastic bottles.what did people use to carry liquid in before, glass.think of having a nice refreshing beer in a....plastic cup.all those festivals u went to & drank out of plastic pint pots.ceramics are even nicer to drink out of.
