I am going to make this brief. The thing that most of you are missing is that these schools are FOR PROFIT. That means they are selling you an education and trying to make a profit. you don't condem small businesses for trying to turn a profit. Why then would you condem a school for trying to achieve the same thing. If veterans don't feel that the school offers a higher quality that demands a higher cost then they should take their GI bill somewhere else. It is the fault of the veteran not...

It is the fault of the veteran not the fault of the school. As for these ad's geared towards veterans they fail to give a single example of an ad campaign. They merely speak in vague generalities to stir up emotion and have you sign the petition before you have a chance to really see the truth behind their attempt.

The point that is being missed here, Zach Murphy, is that weather a company is for profit, non-profit, smal or large, illegal activity is still illegal. No one should be financially raped by any institution committing illegal acts. The fact that you seem to find this behavior defendable, is crying shame. The soldiers of this country put their lives on the line whenever they are called to, with no questions asked. They should not have to worry what's happening to thier money that is to support thier families.

Leah Hawes The activity here is not illegal it is the basic premis of capitalism. I suppose this is my own fault I failed to mention the fact that I am indeed a veteran. Nothing that is going on here is a bad thing. They feel like they can offer a better education than other institutions so they charge more. If you disagree then don't go there. do a little bit of research before you just sign up for a college. Advertising and targeting a specific group of people isn't illegal it's intelligent.

Mr. Murphy, per your post you sound like you may not be a veteran. Try walking in their shoes and see how you feel then.

I think I'll just let that speak for itself! afraid it's the only one I'm comfortable posting. Per UCMJ it's kind of frowned upon to post pictures while on active duty. It poses a security threat that one was during BT.

yes , these education vultures are out there taking advantage of innocent warriors who know about the battle field but not this battles of greed on them. This awareness needs to be taught while they're in service and given guidance on the best plan of action for THEIR benefit.

There are many benefits being taken away from our Veteran's even as I write this comment. The Govt. promises them all kinds of things to get them to serve and once they get out, they find out that the Govt. wasn't truthful. This happened to my son. There are many benefits being taken away from our Veteran's even as I write this comment. The Govt. promises them all kinds of things to get them to serve and once they get out, they find out that the Govt. wasn't truthful. This happened to my son. He was in the Navy and was suppose to get all this money for college. He is very smart and wanted to further his education. He got into ITT Tech. in Denver, Co. to only find out that half the time they had no seating, no computers available and ended up dropping out after just a short period because they misrepresented very badly everything they advertized. He ended up with a $9,000 bill which he has finally paid off. This was of no fault of his because they didn't live up to what he thought their standards were. So, why should he have been made to pay this amount when he only attended a semester at most? ITT is a rip off and anyone that goes there will find out that they are sub-standard at most. The Govt. has not helped in any way in regards to his schooling. He keeps trying to better himself and the Govt. has said he can't qualify for anymore loans even though his loans are only approx. $30,000 to date. They have changed it to where you now will need a Bachelor's degree to qualify. He is a Manager at T-Mobil and I can tell you that the Govt. did nothing to help him get to where he is now. Everyone of them in Congress should be ashamed of themselves. Our men and women coming home will also be running into difficulties because, the promises made are not kept and the colleges are taking advantage of them. The thanks my son got from ITT for his service was quite evident. Avoid them at all costs.

They should have to pay back or give back something to the vets even as the banks that the people bailed out.
