I am going to make this brief. The thing that most of you are missing is that these schools are FOR PROFIT. That means they are selling you an education and trying to make a profit. you don't condem small businesses for trying to turn a profit. Why then would you condem a school for trying to achieve the same thing. If veterans don't feel that the school offers a higher quality that demands a higher cost then they should take their GI bill somewhere else. It is the fault of the veteran not...

It is the fault of the veteran not the fault of the school. As for these ad's geared towards veterans they fail to give a single example of an ad campaign. They merely speak in vague generalities to stir up emotion and have you sign the petition before you have a chance to really see the truth behind their attempt.

The point that is being missed here, Zach Murphy, is that weather a company is for profit, non-profit, smal or large, illegal activity is still illegal. No one should be financially raped by any institution committing illegal acts. The fact that you seem to find this behavior defendable, is crying shame. The soldiers of this country put their lives on the line whenever they are called to, with no questions asked. They should not have to worry what's happening to thier money that is to support thier families.

Leah Hawes The activity here is not illegal it is the basic premis of capitalism. I suppose this is my own fault I failed to mention the fact that I am indeed a veteran. Nothing that is going on here is a bad thing. They feel like they can offer a better education than other institutions so they charge more. If you disagree then don't go there. do a little bit of research before you just sign up for a college. Advertising and targeting a specific group of people isn't illegal it's intelligent.

Mr. Murphy, per your post you sound like you may not be a veteran. Try walking in their shoes and see how you feel then.

I think I'll just let that speak for itself! afraid it's the only one I'm comfortable posting. Per UCMJ it's kind of frowned upon to post pictures while on active duty. It poses a security threat that one was during BT.

I am a veteran and I am disabled. I have been attending a for profit college and am about graduate. The college never, and still does not advertise for veteran recruitment. I do see other colleges have the practice and I wasn't aware it was misused. I do know from just looking at the other websites, they were relentless in pursuing contact and still are. On the other hand I'm grateful to a nation that helped me in pusuit of my education. I used my GI Bill first and worked in my career for...

I used my GI Bill first and worked in my career for years before becoming disabled and then was able to use VR&E to rehabilitate and re-educate. USN-CPO-Retired

Same here-My G.I. bill expired after 10 years. When I became disabled, VR gave me the opportunity to get a Master's, possibly a PhD as well. Thank you VA! Thank you to all those Americans who support us troops!

To me is not a right but a choice that one has to make . to go or not. I chose to go to a trade school .The Government has sent so many Foreign student and paid for their collages and then they go and laugh at the USA. I know because I have met a few in South America . Which , we got into it.

Yes. AIU ONLINE did this to me. I have no recourse except to pay $28,000 back in loans that I was told would be covered by my GI Bill! PLEASE stop them from doing this to anyone else!
