You're a stand-up guy, Michael.
another important cause to support. the statistic on the number of people with disabilities who are homeless is horrifying.
Thanks for spreading the word, Sarah! You are a champion for disability rights :)
Count me in!
I took the pledge, Karen.
We must ask ourselves "WHY" is this allowed to happen? We are one of the richest countries in the world, everywhere you look there are vacant buildings laying to waste. WHY are people sleeping in cardboard boxes? If we are a GOD fearing nation how long will this continue to go on, What about the 13 million.
I spent my entire life working with the homeless mentally ill, almost 40 years, and though I'm retired now due to medical disability, my commitment has not ended, it has just slowed me down a little. I may take smaller steps but still moving toward the same goal - to end homelessness for this fragile population. Rev Dr Jesse Bateau.
What needs to be exploded is the myth of meritocracy and individualism which says that if people are poor or homeless, it's their fault, that they've probably made bad choices, are lazy, etc. and not because the system is rigged to exploit the poor and powerless and benefit and protect the already rich and propertied.
Thanks for sharing this Anne Marie!
we must continue to come together as a whole in this world and find a way to unite with each other. we must all try to remember to find our strentgh from the one who has all the power, and that would be in our LORD JESUS CHRIST,.
We can become informed and do our part no matter how small, because when you are homeless, hungry and struggling to survive-every little bit helps to fend off that terrible sense of hopelessness~.
