Why didn't Invisible Children address this problem in the early 2000's when Kony was at large and actually in Uganda? Has the US not already taken action with Obama's signing of the disarmament of the LRA in 2010? We should be fighting against other urgent human rights violations in Africa such as the current ethnic cleansing happening by the Sudanese government in the Nuba Mountains. I agree Kony should be found, but there are other urgent matters Americans should be focusing on as well. Just ask George Clooney.

The reason invisible children started was because they went to uganda in 2005 and learned about it then, so that is why they made their first video the rough cut and things got started. They did as much as they could as soon as they learned about it. They aren't in uganda anymore, but are in central east africa still abducting people even with dwindling numbers. We are focused on this movement and if you think other parts of africa or the world even need help then do your part and start...

I am trying bringing attention to other African issues. That's why I commented in the first place.

Great! I hope to see stuff from you about those other issues in the future then. That is how things get known, like how Invisible Children has Kony 2012

I think the effort made by Invisible Children to inform the public on the Kony issue is great, but their original plan was abandoned. If I remember correctly, the film makers of "Invisible Children: Rough Cut" originally wanted to document the situation in Darfur. Well, the time has come again in which a visible ethnic cleaning is happening to the Nuban people by the Sudanese government...another Darfur may be in the making. Well, the time has come again in which a visible ethnic cleaning is happening to the Nuban people by the Sudanese government...another Darfur may be in the making. This seems to be more of an urgent matter Invisible Children, with it's popularity and networks, could focus on to prevent another genocide. Time and time again, the international community has sit back and watch as hundreds of thousands of people be systematically murdered. My point is, these are blatant atrocities and I don't understand why they don't seem to get as much attention as something that was problematic in the early 2000s. The time is now. People are informed about Kony. Invisible Children's next focus should be on Children in the Nuba mountains. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p89OuPODBMM

It didn't talk about the situation in darfur at all... it was about Jacob and the different people affected by the war. I understand there are other terrible things happening in the world, but the fact is the LRA still hasn't been stopped and Kony hasn't been caught. Invisible Children is also about other things, like programs to help the war affected victims. Invisible Children is also about other things, like programs to help the war affected victims. On their website under the programs section there are many different programs they have to rebuild schools that were destroyed, to help rehabilitate the many who were abducted and freed, there is the Tri fund, and many more. IC isn't just about stopping Kony, but helping those who were affected by the war, which the people still need help which IC is providing. The thing is IC is about this war and the effort, people don't understand that these were regular guys from California who started this, so you can too. If you feel deeply about the children in the Nuba Mountains then do something about it instead of telling them to. You have a voice, so voice it and not on this blog, but to others so they hear about it. I mean that is what they did and look how far they've gotten.

I was talking about the 2006 documentary which had the original purpose filming about Darfur. What war are you referring to when you say "IC is about this war?" The civil war in Uganda is over. And I know the implications of the war are still present--that's why a group of my friends and I are rebuilding a nursery school in Uganda through our Oxfam branch at Miami University. Invisible Children are not the only ones doing good in Uganda.

Invisible Children is IC. Their original purpose wasn't about Darfur... they went to Uganda and learned about the tragedies there and then created the rough cut. I am not saying that they are the only ones. You were saying IC needed to focus on other things, so I responded they aren't done with what they are doing now. Like I said you doing things for other causes is great, go out and do them, but don't say that Invisible Children needs to focus on other causes when their cause is still...

We are on the same side here, so I'm not sure why were arguing about this. We both want to help others as much as we can, obviously. I am helping through Invisible Children rebuild schools from the war and you through rebuilding nurserys. We're helping others, so lets just end it at that.

Wait, are you saying that Invisible Children refers to themselves as the international community? And their original documentary was supposed to be about Darfur, but they decided to focus on Uganda instead. And umm we are talking about the same war. The civil war between the Ugandan government and the LRA and ADF is technically over, but the LRA still traumatizes the region. I agree we are on the same side, so our argument is pointless, but sounds like you need to brush up on your history.

IC as in Invisible Children... its just a name we call it. Yes, I know all of that. The civil war was ended back in the '80s that is why the LRA started because of Alice Lakwena and the Holy Spirit movement, later picked up by Kony after Lakwena fled to Kenya. So, yes we are talking about the same war, but when I say war I am referencing what the war is now, the one that has been going on for the last 20 years with the LRA and their terrorizing of Uganda and now Central East Africa. THOSE PPL U SAW - are scammed. they think they're helping children from harm.
THOSE PICTURES THEY SHOW - are outdated. hardly any relevance to Kony as well.

Funny how the video can't convince you KONY is alive but an Ugandan girl living in the states makes 1 web appearance without any photos or proofs tells u KONY is dead and you believe it. If you read up in human psychology, "you will find red if you are looking for red" if u know what i mean. Eric Abram, also, doing a research takes a very serious approach and long long time. Scouring the internet for facts might not be the most convincing way although we can rest assure ourselves of what we are doing. Doing research involve contacting certain authorities which sometimes even the authorities cant tell you the whole truth. So what you say is barely smacking a smart reply to someone who wanted to buy into something. Do you believe in god? Can you research that as well? What if some nutritionist tells you that certain food is good against cancer, are you going to research that as well before you buy into that? Stop smacking smart-ass remarks like that "people should do their research" as if you did yours. You are just being a skeptic, nothing more. You are not forced to part with your money. You watch it and then use your own judgement to decide. "Uganda has newly discovered oil, which is the only reason why this is hapenning" again I know you are trying to sound smart after reading some articles, but can you give us at least a hypothesis what the video has anything to do with the newly discovered oil? Here i'll hand you one theory "They are lobbying for more military occupying Uganda to safegurd certain oil interest in the cover of a Humanitarian cause." Abram also mentioned "dialogue." Matt of fact, what we have is even better, a FORUM from all the shares and articles found online AND on youtube itself. lastly, a skeptic will easily find their "research" by googling "KONY 2012 SCAM" so he can back his "research" with those facts. As I said, when seek red, you will find red. All I am saying is, have some forum etiquette. Put forth YOUR facts and proper EVIDENCE instead of just trolling.

Anthony - I respect the whole seeing red thing here. But I really was indifferent about the Kony case, and I still am. I just saw this update vid, read some rosy comments, and u know what, I was in a bad mood already.

If I cared to make ppl stop supporting, I'd start linking the articles and vids I saw. one of them being direct response from the citizens of an area in Uganda. But I really don't care, I only asked them to CONSIDER the other possibilities of their choices. WHAT IF this IS all...

WHAT IF this IS all a scam? what if this really is leading to a military occupying Uganda? would u still be ok being a part of this?

According to you, none of us can back up anything with links, both sides will find enough evidences and none are too credible. So I'm left with these simple thoughts;

What if Kony is true, and I'm mistaken? - I've been annoying.
What if Kony is False, and supporters are mistaken? - They've been much more harmful.

Ahmad Kareem Unlike Iraq, KONY & the LRA is not the ruling party in Uganda. Thus capturing KONY and topping LRA doesn't mean they gain oil controls, there is still a legitimate Ugandan government. The propganda has reached so wide, you think there won't be backlash should the movement is a shroud for the conspiracy theory of "an US occupation of Uganda?" If that happens, rest assure that KONY2012 will be small compared to OBAMA2012.
