Sorry, somehow I don't think a book, security blanket and stuffed animal really addresses the problem. Homes are what is needed, jobs, education...it is a big problem. I do understand this project will do something immediete and helpful and there are simlar projects that provide quilts and pillowcases for kids (Project Linus). Someone once told me about working in a shelter and being asked by a woman for a sheet to go inside a sleeping bag. She wanted something clean to sleep in. There...

Someone once told me about working in a shelter and being asked by a woman for a sheet to go inside a sleeping bag. She wanted something clean to sleep in. There were no sheets, just sleeping bags. Afterthat I made up some silk sleeping bag liners. It sounds expensive but it wasn't. Actually, they caould probabl;y be bought in bulk for about $8=10 and are perfect for homeless peolpe....very small and lightweight, easily cleaned in a public bathroom and dried with the hand dryer on the wall.

I have another idea. Take the tax dollars back from the bankers -- and force them to disgorge their ill-gotten gains. That would amount to a few trillion dollars. After all, that was our money, and many of the homeless today paid some of the taxes that the banksters were given by our corrupt non-representatives in Congress.

It is a shame that we have to cobble together little projects to meet these needs. This is the richest country in the world. We are robbed blind by corporations that...

It is a shame that we have to cobble together little projects to meet these needs. This is the richest country in the world. We are robbed blind by corporations that buy elections for pocket change are get rewarded with billions. Dismantle the corporate state, build an economy that serves human needs rather than the greed of "Corporate Persons" -- and the homeless will be housed, the hungry fed, and the predators punished.

I think they should also empty their own private Social Security Funds; these supposed "higher up's" have no right to create their own Social Security Plan. They are exactly like everyone else... AMERICANS, who work hard for our money and are in reality the "backbone" of this nation.

Daniel Hutcherson : It may be just an angery response from Millar but in keeping with the American Governments paranoia with Comunists, you fall into the trap of thinking that the concept is bad. It is unworkable, but is from the ideals of fairness to all people, something that your country does not practice. I have been behind the IRON CURTAIN and seen the disaster of the system, and it is because Humanity is selfish.

People don't want to feel like 'charity'. We all need support to be safe and to prosper, and we need to give it to those who are suffering, and lacking, so that they can help themselves. Those who say that the homeless are lazy or crazy clearly have no idea what it's like to experience such disadvantages that leaves a human being homeless.

I don't mean to detract from this grave issue but this is a similar issue I'd like to bring to your attention; I hope you support it. Thank you <3 http:/...

Daniel, do you know how much business we give to Communist China? Your cell phone is made by communists! BTW, what kind of law/ethics do they teach at your 'city university'?

Why do we have to go to China or other countries to adope a child. They are plenty in the US needing homes. Why do we not take care of these homeless children here at home first and then go other countries later?"

It only costs a lot for a white child... Also, here in the states "open adoption" is usually required and a lot of adoptive parents would prefer not to have contact with birth parents even though it is better for the children's mental health in the long run...

Mikayla Fergus That is actually incorrect the children there are not killed but instead the girls are usually traded to the sex trade and the boys are recruited most of the time for military purposes...

your lucky to still have a paying job, not like 25 % of our unemployed whose unemployment insurance has ended, including the millions of homelessness, denied social services reserved for the inner city welfare society who works on presidential election day, once every 4 years, starting early and quitting late making the rounds of ACORN polling stations. The " Cargo " society, like a stone on our head in deep water

I was on the streets form 16-18, looking for safe places to rest up for the next day, food was not as much of a problem, it was the weather that trampled me especially when I was sick during the winter and the only place I could sneak in to was a secure open roof room attached to a business on the second floor with just the clothes I wore and my cold no source of warmth. Plus some of these place when pitch black, you can’t see any Condemned signs and what for. Got to love asbestos and that...

Got to love asbestos and that stolen car already there and the cops hovering over you inhumanly grilling you with 1st degree interrogations.

Any ways I just want to say that it can really suck ass and I had just myself to take care of. Feel bad for the ones that can’t afford to be in that position, then there’s the others that find it to be a way of life and more power to them.

*****Remember these few*****.

1) What does NOT kill you only makes you stronger.
2) Always maintain your bearing or at least try to.
3) In order: Children; children with mother &/or Father; Women; then yourself (if you can manage to).

I've been adopted when I was three and then after my sister moved out I ran away a few times too many and ended up homeless.I learned that its a tough world especially when the nearest town was six miles away and family should of been top of my list instead of trying to live my life the way I wanted to.I was 14 first time I ran away.if I ever had the chance to adopt a child or children I would adopt from the usa only because a lot of kids here were just like me or don't have family like some ppl.

Just speaking up from Australia for America's kids. Don't want to hear of ANY homeless kids. US is doing it tough - keep your charity at home if it's all you can afford. If you are comfortable, charity doesn't have to STOP at home. A little goes such a long way for Vietnamese babies STILL being born damaged by Agent Orange, for instance.
Many have hydrocephalus - with heads like basketballs. They eventually die as parents can't afford treatment.

They are stealing. Children living in the streets. WE the people must do something. Get rid of a round up program and help the children billions go to them not the BLM. It is a disgrace in America our children are living in the streets. We all should be ashamed.
