The truth never hurt anyone. What are women afraid of? That their children will find out that women ruined their lives? Is it so hard to believe?

This pledge should go both ways -- in fact, it should apply to any adult with responsibility for a child, and who in dispute with another adult with a shared responsibility for that child. This pledge should go both ways -- in fact, it should apply to any adult with responsibility for a child, and who in dispute with another adult with a shared responsibility for that child. AND this pledge is NOT about rewarding bad behavior of an ex, or another adult. If we truly want to "hold adults accountable...and teach [our] children to avoid [our] mistakes," the best way is to be accountable ourself and modeling that behavior FOR THEM. It is about doing right by our kids. Whatever issues we can think of, we AT LEAST have shared responsibility for having brought kids into this world and the environment where they are today. The best we can do now is WORK for their wellbeing via every appropriate venue: family, friends, schools, courts, etc. My sister and I suffered divorce of my parents, each of us raised by one of the two. I promise you that kids are not so easy to negatively program as we imagine, and what we do after the adult dispute matters enormously. Putting them in the middle of this ADULT issue, and making disparaging comments about our ex (or grandparent, or other responsible adult) to CHILDREN does NOTHING for them -- AND in fact, just lays another burden on their hearts, shoulders and minds when we should instead be lifting those burdens.

I took the pledge. I do not talk badly about my children's father to them, I encourage them to listen to him, obey his rules, have respect for him and most importantly love him. I just wish that he would do the same for me.....
