I served as a Green Beret for fifteen years. Our motto, "Di Oppresso Liber" is a tradition exercised for the rest of our lives within ourselves, our families and community. We are obligated to live well and help those we served with to help do the same. In doing so we honor those who didn't return with us.

They fought for our country, so yes, I feel they should be especially considered for jobs over other unemployed people.

Due to age factor, veterans are most vulnerable to social and economic miseries and deserve a due care over the other employed persons physically and mentally healthy and also need sympathy of the society as a whole as being discarded as a burden by the near and dear ones.

No, they have now joined the rest of the work force. Why should someone who has been out of work for two yrs. be passed up because someone else dropped out of the service, Re-enlist. Someone with veteran on their resume has almost always been considered over a regular civilian. I am a veteran and I thank all who served, but you have now joined the rest of us. It should be based on your qualifications.

I feel the person qualified for the job should be hired no matter whether they served in the military or not. Some people spend years in college costing them tons of money and still cannot find work. Do we want to put the word out there that says, "if you want a job, you have to go fight in the military first." We are an equal America and everyone should be treated equally and just remember, being in the militarry is a chosen profession. I bless every one of them, hurts me deeply when one is...

All veterans hold a place of honor in our home and lives, always will, but equality is the best way to handle all American people. To the military, "Thank you for fighting for all of us in America."
