I come from a long line of Veterans, two consecutives times with Revolutationary War, Civil War, WW I, WW II, Korean Conflict, Vietnam. A large percentage of our Veterans were drafted as teenager's, they gave their all and a great number were injured physically or left with scaring memories that haunted them for the rest of their lives. A great many lost their lives and never had a chance to work and have a family, their parents and families lost them forever. The freedom they gave...

The freedom they gave everyone should be more appreciated, stop and think without their sacrifice we wouldn't have our freedom, we possibly woundn't even be here. Healthcare is a story by itself, not only are the Vetern's affected by Agent Orange ETC., but wives and children even grandchildren and so on. My answer to the question is YES, because we can never do enough to pay back our VETS.

They should also receive special consideration when it comes to healthcare as well.

Actually with health care we do... if we don't have health insurance and were either discharged with an honorable discharge then we can receive low cost or free heath care from the VA depending on our income situation

I am a vet, I work at the Manchester VA hospital and I use my Blue cross blue sheild as needed , as I have never fild for a disability. I have never been involved with more caring individuals in my life. The staff at this are top notch.

I am a veteran. I have lots of relatives that are either in the military or are also veterans. My father was in the Army. My grandfather was in the Army and my great-grandfather was too. I have hundreds of ancestors that were in the U.S. Army. Some lost their lives protecting this country. Others lost their lands. Still others were persecuted by civilians for being in Vietnam. There are many different types of sacrifices that our veterans have made to protect the Untied States of America and they have done so without asking for anything in return. Now they need help just to get a job and support themselves. Giving them preference to employment is a very small thing to give to those who protect this country. Where is your patriotism? I don't think this should be a question but instead should be a statement "Veterans should get special consideration for jobs over other unemployed people."

I am a veteran of 21 yrs. service to this great country (Canada) of ours. and allthough, we owe a great depth to our vets. for the sacrefice that the vets have given, what should be done , is to ensure that the vets have the means provided to them to learn what ever trade that they wish. and after that is complete then let them earn the job that they want on their ability to preform.

Veterans selfless signed up and defended out homeland with their lives and that right there in my mind should automatically put them at the front of the line here at home when it comes to jobs because they are the ones at the front of the lines over seas! God Bless our retired and active duty service members.

As a veteran I say YES! As a citizen I say YES! However if this country were more committed to creating jobs in America we wouldn't be having this discussion!

They should be treated with the respect and consideration they deserve and should be put before everyone else.

There should be some rewards for risking one's life to serve the country...
