P.S. It is in a Pitbull type breed's DNA to attack, kill etc.? That is what they were bred to do? Seriously? It is in MY DNA to be a drug-dealer and a prositute, I should have done time in a maximum security prison as well but thankfully for me I was put up for adoption at 5 weeks of age in 1965. I was raised by two beautiful people who desperately wanted children and who showered me with love and affection. Nobody is a truer testament to being a product of their environment than me! You're just clueless!!!

I think there SHOULD be a buyback scheme. When a human abuses an animal and the animal dies, the human's family should be given a sum of money and the human should be immediately "humanely put to sleep". Why should dogs be killed summarily and yet humans get away scot free with the EXACT SAME CRIMES, especially when the DOG is the one who DOESN'T KNOW ANY BETTER?

The buy back scheme wont work, no one is going to give up their much loved animal, its almost like asking them to give up a child. besides that issue these dogs are not the only dogs that would attack a child, many dogs can crack for many reasons through health right up to how it is trained and treated. the answer is in the keeping the treatment and training of dogs.

I cannot possibly comprehend how a clueless human can make such a bad decision. Animals were created first and then humans, so maybe the humans should think about that. Why did we come second, I'm not letting anyone take my fur babies from me not the council, not the cops and certainly not some dim witted homosapien such as her, *sighs, shakes head at the human race*

Local Government Minister Don Page should spend a little time with the dogs that he considers to sell as mere disposable products... apparently he knows nothing of what these poor animals have to go through every time they are forced to find new homes

These people know nothing about these beautifully dogs they are not violent and horriable as those people are trying to make them out to be a dog is what the owner makes them be anybody can take any dog doesn't matter what breed and make them violent these people need to step back and regroup and stop trying to take peoples furbabies from them what are they up to

Her comments and attitude remind me of a horrible person in Germany!! The next thing she will want is to sterilize people who don't meet up to her standards. Sound familier?? She can have my guns and my dogs over my dead body!!

When is education and prevention going to be the answer? The dog buy back scheme will do nothing to solve the problem.surrendering bull type breeds will only make way for the same type of uneducated people to create another dangerous dog breed.10 years ago it was the German Shepard ,this decade it's bill breeds. When will people learn its how you raise an animal? Licenses for those who want to a guard/hunting dog - and tougher penalties (ie fines and lengthy gaol sentences) for those that don't have one.
