Years ago humans ate with their hands. Now today we (???) use knives and forks. Thats the Then and Now. So Straws were then, (something new.) Now we (???) have moved on. Babies and the Disabled may need Straws today. That is definitly not the quantity wasted that goes into the enviroment.

Years ago straws were made out of paper - i think they were lightly coated with wax or something similar. So, they would last as long as it took to finish your drink, and then binned. I'm sure they could be made environmentally friendly again.

Thanks for doing that Kathryn, if you want to collect them and ship them to us we will be making a large plastic straw display to demonstrate the effect of these single-use products

Why don't we just ban all plastic straws from being manufactured? Make them out of recycled paper and coat them with food-grade wax. They should work just as well.

Cheryl Watters Conatser

think of how much money they will save by not giving out so many straws
