the mother who had u raised u to the best they could gave u love and her whole heart getting older or sickly doesn't mean to throw her away in a place that will abuse her or mistreat her for what she has loved u all your life that is not what old people or far to be put away where u don't have to be bother u is a sad thing in this world honor your mother and father and see that there last days are of love not of abuse or scared and alone.

Let us not forget the younger abusers will one day become old themselves and end up in a care home......they say what goes round comes round! The elderly have paid taxes/pensions into their country all their lives and they deserve the care, love and respect in return.

I know from personal experience. Overall I have been pleased with the facility my father is in, but I have to keep a very close eye on my father. I have had a lot of issues with them not changing his disposable briefs as often as they should. He often sits in urine to the point that it has puddled in his wheelchair. I always call it to someone's attention and I have called the administrator on several occasions. I even reported it to Social Services and the state Joint Commission on...

I even reported it to Social Services and the state Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals. Most of this neglect comes when they are short of help and having trouble keeping staff. Otherwise I have had no issues, but being short of help is not an excuse either. Nursing homes should have adequate staff on all shifts on all hallways. There are many residents who have no one looking after their interests and being the watchdog to make sure they are not being abused and/or neglected in these home. Any facility can gear up for an upcoming inspection. The state inspections are done once a year and even though they do not give an exact date of their inspection, staff usually knows pretty well when the inspections are due and they are on their toes for a couple of months. After inspection, they tend to get lazy again. These are things the state inspectors do not see.

Abusing the elderly, frail and less able more vulnarable members of our communities and society in general is nothing short of purely criminal. We are all going to be old sometime...
