In 1992 the RSPCA Yagoona put down my dog "by mistake"! She was 2yrs old and healthy. I called on Friday afternoon and they said to come in on Monday morning to pick her up; over the weekend they would de worm her, give her shots ect. When I went in on Monday morning they had put her down about 15 mins before I arrived. They said "Sorry, we put her name on the wrong list". Murderers!! Something has to be done about this shelter, they are murderers, plain and simple!!

Iseult: I'm American, from the US. I live in Brooklyn, NY. New York City's Animal Care & Control are just like the RSPCA. They have a propensity for putting down healthy adoptable animals. The ASPCA, here in New York City, isn't like that. Euthanasia in the ASPCA is as a last resort. They make every effort to save the animal and place it for adoption, but euthanasia is almost always a last resort.

We dropped off our dog at this "animal clinic" near my place , similar situation they told us to keep him their for x rays and blood work . An hour later we went back to " pick him up" . Only to tell us he had just passed away . They didn't have the decency to call us. They waited until we arrived an hour later . Who knows what exactly happened .. All I know is Its pretty fucked up service .. They don't care .

End the kill shelters, dog fighting and abuse here in the USA and abroad. Stiff fines, jail time might help. Stiff laws must be placed in our justice system.

The RSPCA have been doing this for years, I did volunteer work for them at Yagoona and I worked down the back where they put the animals to sleep, most of them were young from 12 months old and they had nothing wrong with them they just had too many animals and this is their solution to the problem kill them and burn them. In one day I watched, held and soothed over 20 dogs being put to sleep, very sad. They get so much money and they charge so much for adoptions why can't they stop killing...

This just breaks my heart! I have a blind dog, and the thought of poor Thomas, being lead to his death by these idiots, being afraid , not knowing the voices around him, just kills me! I have put the petition on my facebook page urging people to sign to find out what happen on Thomas behalf. This is such a disturbing story, it is frightening! Poor Thomas! I will follow this story till the end! The next dog I get, I will name in memory of Thomas. I personally only adopt special needs...

The RSPCA will never receive a single penny from me or my family. For them to kill a puppy who had a chance at a good life with the foster family is disgusting. There was not need for this innocent pup to lose his life other than the fact that this so called shelter didn't want him to have a chance to be happy. This place must be run by monsters, certainly not compassionate people. They should be investigated and closed immediately. No excuse for this horrible tragedy.

I think the people who work at the shelter do so because it is their chance to kill innocent and vulnerable creatures who can't protect themselves. It also gives these maladjusted, chronically angry killers the chance to thumb their nose at others who care about protecting innocent lives. They are sick misfits who gravitate to jobs in shelters, on factory farms, and in slaughter houses for this reason, and because they can't fit in with decent people.
