I remember last year a woman phoned the RSPCA to report a stray cat in her garden. They came to collect it and within a matter of hours the cat had been put down even though the owner called in to ask for his cat back. The cat in question was healthy, young and chipped but still they put him down without a second thought. It was that story that made me stop giving money to the the RSPCA UK.

Again the RSPCA think they are God!. this dog had a carer, they had no right to do what they did. I used to support them in a big way, but last year, due to their appalling kill rate and the way they play God, I stopped. I now make sure everyone knows, who I support and why, and who I dont support and why. RSPCA you should hang your head in shame! A thorough investigation needs to be made of this organisation. PEOPLE UNITE! /There is only one God, and this organisation is not it!

This is a sickening unconscionable abuse of power by the RSPCA to put it mildly without being as offensive as I would like to be! This pup had a foster carer taking good care of him and they have completely undermined and disrespected their own doctrine which is to maintain life and make sure that animal welfare is not abused, to prevent cruelty to animals and maintain a system of carers etc. So why kill this pup in such cold blood? We need an explanation because this RSPCA is not above the...

We need an explanation because this RSPCA is not above the law and they are accountable to the public for their actions. To kill this pup is a gross violation of Thomas's rights and a disgrace to the RSPCA organisation for their kill culture, Please don't ever take your pets to the RSPCA for treatment and avoid their Pet Insurance too!

It sickens me to constantly hear of all this animal cruelty, abuse, neglect and non compassion. Unfortunately there are a lot of humans in this world that are the animals. Actually the animals act better and show more unconditional love then so many humans. It is a disgrace and there aren't any strict laws in place to make people really answer for any unnatural death of an animal being from abuse or otherwise. This Shelter should definitely be investigated and I would look into suing them...

This Shelter should definitely be investigated and I would look into suing them as an entity and also the individuals involved in making the decision. Not all animal shelters or animal help groups are good or legitimate. You really need to be careful inquire and do your homework first about them now a days. There is just so much stupidity, dishonesty, greed, evil and lack of care in the world today not just for the animals but for your fellow human that one must be constantly on the lookout.

You're right, not all the shelters and groups are the same. Some of those that are supposed to be caring for animals are amongst the worst perpetrators. The ASPA and PETA are on that list. They care for the suffering of the animals (which is commendable), but their answer is death. They're killers in the name of no-suffering. But, they kill the animals loved by their owners because THEY think it's best. One could call it killing for kindness. Worse, they actually take our donations to do...

But I feel the no-kill method is better. https://www.facebook.com/events/236752966403277/, http://www.nathanwinograd.com/?p=12845 (Read articles by Nathan Winograd.)

That is animal cruelty!! I would have to sue that shelter! I'm sorry you had to go through that, Thomas could have been saved and helped! He was so cute and adorable. My thoughts are with you. Glad you have these pics of when you did have Thomas with you.

This is terrible. Isn't the whole point to save life. If this puppy needed this family and was wonderful in their care, he should have been given back to them to live a healthy loving life. It sickens me that Groups who say they are here to help save animals, take their lives instead. I have been blessed with one of my dogs for 13 years and he has separation anxiety, but is living a wonderful life and the joy of my life.

In 1992 the RSPCA Yagoona put down my dog "by mistake"! She was 2yrs old and healthy. I called on Friday afternoon and they said to come in on Monday morning to pick her up; over the weekend they would de worm her, give her shots ect. When I went in on Monday morning they had put her down about 15 mins before I arrived. They said "Sorry, we put her name on the wrong list". Murderers!! Something has to be done about this shelter, they are murderers, plain and simple!!

Iseult: I'm American, from the US. I live in Brooklyn, NY. New York City's Animal Care & Control are just like the RSPCA. They have a propensity for putting down healthy adoptable animals. The ASPCA, here in New York City, isn't like that. Euthanasia in the ASPCA is as a last resort. They make every effort to save the animal and place it for adoption, but euthanasia is almost always a last resort.

This is absolutely disgusting, you are supposed to care about animals, not destroy them for no reason. Not human and not humane!!!
