Because I am a wheelchair user and realise that my disability should still allow me a good life.

Why do they make you spend any money you have saved before they will ok you for SSI. We had to give up a time share that we had worked yrs to pay for and then had to wait two yrs for Medicare. I have COPD and that was the reason I had to retire. I didn't want to I had to. When I did I got out of the hospital only to find out my State insurance had been cancelled and I would have to buy my meds. I had no money coming in and the drs would not see me with no insurance. Luckily I got SSi started...

I work with people who have disabilities every day and have for years. There have been times when I have actually felt bad because I have earned more than them in a year and I have seen first hand how hard they fight for the rights of people with disabilities to live independently and freely. Freely? Really? Those that know me know where this tangent can lead to! :) :) :) :) PLEASE SUPPORT THIS!

Because we all enjoyed the efforts of our paralypians. Just like the disabled cant all be paralympians, we can't all be olympians. DLA etc is not a luxury. It is a necessity.

I live on disability and right now it does equal poverty.

My girlfriend is disabled, but even if she wasn't, I would not want my country to ignore the problems faced by people who are unable to earn their living in the normal way. Some people can't get a job like everyone else, and employers have no incentive to adapt for the disabled. Cutting off their benefits and ghettoising them is not the answer, and any politician who has had a part in doing this should never be allowed the opportunity to affect other people's lives again.

Don't let this government single out the easy target for cuts. Stand and fight.

We should be caring for and cherishing the sick and disabled not punishing them with poverty.
