What is it about a so called civilised society's obsession to hunt and kill these animals. They seem to have a lust for blood. A wolf is a magnificent creature, and should be left in peace. This world would be a much duller place without the wolf.

You're right. Just monsters living in human form. Many of these hunters just love what they're doing. (Look at their websites - it's disturbing.) They bring their kids out to watch the father beat the wolf to death while caught in a trap. The hunters shoot the wolf in the stomach (called "gut-shot") knowing it won't die right away and will suffer. They're psychotic killers. If they could, they'd kill humans too. But the Feds and States are too busy collecting the money from hunting permits...

But the Feds and States are too busy collecting the money from hunting permits to care. We need to find ways for money to go to those (governmental) agencies that are supposed to protect the wolf so that the only money they get is not from hunters. (Perhaps camping taxes, etc.) Otherwise, these elected officials will just follow the money. Which means death to the wolves.

Let nature take care of the animals. Keep humans out of the equation, they only upset the fine balance of nature. Nature reserves are created to protect animals, not to allow selfish humans in to kill them. The idea to allow hunting on a nature reserve is completely insane and hypocritical.

Thanks to the Good Wolf for taking care of such difficult questions. May you protect our delicate nature.

It is brutal cruel senselessness to continue inflicting the most horrendous suffering on defenceless wild life and killing them for no good reason. Decades of trapping and killing wildlife together with the changes to our climate and environment will take it toll on the population of all wild life so please end this brutal cruel killing and preserve them instead. Soon it could be too late to save them because of the uncertainties of our environment. No decent human beings could find pleasure in trapping and killing wild life!

Wolves have been painstakingly brought back to the Midwest and Central US. Do not let this richness slip away and not enable a self sustaining wolf population to become established. What you preach in conservation abroad, you should do at home too ...
