Genisis 9:3 - Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

Peta, you put your foot in your mouth on this one. Stay out of Hawaiian culture and pick on the stars wearing fur.

Please go listen to my cousin Keanu Sai. Each and every law they impose on us Kanakamaoli is considered a war crime. This means that the official who punished you can be investigated by the bigger world courts. There is no such thing as the state of Hawaii

I am samoan and enjoy fishing. Got into fishing bout 5 years ago and every chance i get to go out and cast my line i take advantage of it. My mother who was born and raised in samoa always told us a stories of how my grandfather would ask his kids what do you want for dinner from the ocean? (which was my grandparents backyard-the ocean)he would come back with his 12 childrens request for dinner. He never took more than what he needed, only for that evenings dinner. I was very overwhelmed...

I was very overwhelmed of the lifestyle my mom and her siblings grew up in samoa. I have never been there, born and raised in hawaii and love the islands with all my heart. We only take what we need and if its small we do the right thing and throw it back into the ocean. PETA will never understand what and why our ROOTS with FISHING is very important to us POLYNESIANS. It is instilled in us and our culture. Much aloha to all who LOVE FISHING and I SUPPORT our fisherman and woman.

Never kill what you can't eat, tradition!

Respect and recognize our culture and traditional ways of fishing. PETA needs to eat some sashimi, poke, and feed their brain cells.

PETA needs to go away...far, far away from Hawaii and take your attitude with you when you leave. Your legitimacy is questionable ----don't come to our nation and tell our people how to subsist and survive. Thank you.

PETA has overstepped their boundaries when they tell Kanaka (Hawai`ian) they cannot practice the subsistence they have known for generations. This is like tell the American Indians they cannot kill and eat the deer anymore. I hear no resistance to GMO Salmon which is done by the government or the cloning of animals done in labs. We are scientifically classified as mammals and so PETA, where is my protection from others that would and do-do harm. You are not protecting me and my Ohana...

You are not protecting me and my Ohana (family) you are performing genocide by denying a culture what it needs to live. We are not wasting or torturing the fish we eat them. Poi and fish are what we eat, do the researchbe cause you don't give your pet fish dog food, that would just kill the fish. Canned processed meats and tainted dairy are killing us these are facts that are ignored in the name of profit but we know it is truly called Genocide.

I totally agree with cultural practices. There are non cultural people who take advantage. Shame on you. Take pride in the culture and DO NOT allow bad practices to give outsiders the advantage . Love Hawaii culture, waters, land, and people. Respect Hawaii. It is a beautiful and fragile environment that all people have to respect to protect. Mahalo for your respect of all Hawaii's creatures.

We need to think like Hawaiians of old, only fish what is needed to support the village, the island, not the world. They have their own seas in which to fish. We always had enough to feed our people. Greed is what is feeding the need to have more & more & now there is no more!
