Officer Hadad should consider bringing suit against Broward County Animal Control and Care (ACC) under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ACT). If she suffers from depression and anxiety and, as a result could not kill animals, ACC should have assigned her to another position — ideally, her former position as a field officer. Surely, such a transfer would qualify as a "reasonable accommodation." (BTW, I absolutely do not intend for my suggestion to in way diminish or dismiss Officer...

I would stand by this lady any given day! I pray she gets her original job back or is lead to another facility for animals that is not a high kill shelter. Fired because she has a big heart? That's outrageous!

There will be a March Against Cruelty to Animals in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, November 16th at noon at Huizenga Plaza. It will be the first one in Florida but the organizers plan to take this March to other states and subsequently other countries. Please share. We need to petition the Broward County Commissioners to restore Dafna Hadad's job.

too bad she is not in charge of the entire state Animal Services Department. She IS what they need: Humane souls with a real caring heart. The cruel monsters we have right now are exactly what is wrong with our society and should never be working near a poor, defenseless animal. GOD Bless you Dafna and I hope we hear more great things about your bravery & compassion in the near future, I hope you never give up your true calling working to protect our innocent & voiceless

This can be considered a personal health issue, that the county should NOT be able to mess with and SHOULD have to accommodate.
