My friend it is easy to sit in your comfort and ask for these humanitarian petition but look on the other side of the coin that what will these children do to feed themselves. It is right that child's place is in playground and not on the working field but remember my friend hunger is the biggest evil and again they will be forced to do work but this time not by anyone else but by there own fate. So this petition will only make their life worse unless it does not support an alternati for their livelihood
Wow, I didn't consider that. Thanks for pointing that out.
Very true - it's not just about stopping evil practices, but replacing them with good alternatives.
Destroying the rain forest and wildlife habitat so that industries manufacture a product that has all ready been proven to be detrimental to our health, people should be taught to grow foods that are beneficial to them and grow in dependant from industrialized bloodsuckers
The proper alternative is for corporations that are exploiting children so they can more money to cease the practice and hire their parents. Most of these exploited children aren't just having to feed themselves but their whole families. Corporate greed is the problem and will continue to be as long as they can continue exploiting the poor.
I will not use products that contribute to deforestation or child labor. Period. I will actively search for information pertaining to these issues and spread the word.
I totally agree with you
In NZ we dont even know if we are consuming palm oil as they are not obligated to label it, its time that changed.
Children need our protection as does our environment they are all our future and responsibility
Children's has the right to have fun, going to school, learn to work but not to obligate them,.it is our responsibility to protect them and direct them to bring them in a good future....poverty or hunger is not the reason to bring our child to labor. It is a crime and against the law to employed a child and forced them to work as slaves...

No child labor! No slavery! Also, NO palm oil in my food!
Idiots!!! Who knows where labour comes from when a product is shipped halfway across the world. If Indonesian Govt cannot manage its labour rights. buyers in other countries are not to blame. Those who say Amen to this sort of stupid accusations are are even more stupid. That would be all those in this page and not the Page of Cargills.
Cargill knows where the products come from and they are still buying them. Just like Walmart and The Gap knows that the clothing they get is made in sweat shops that the worker are locked into and can't get out if a fire starts or the building collapses, like the recent collapse that kill over one thousand workers but they are still refusing to sign the agreement to only buy clothing from companies that provide a safe work environment for their workers. Many companies have signed the agreement but they will not sign it because it will effect there profits and they apparently think that is more important than human lives!
We need to demand clear labelling on our food re which ones have unsustainable palm oil in them which is presently disguised as vegetable oil in lots of food. Read the labels, ring the manufacturers.
The problem here is, as long as there is poverty in these countries. Such practices will never end. People in the west play with money like it's nothing. One person eats enough food in one meal which four could eat. The real cause of child labour, piracy, etc is poverty. Those children's parents send them to work because the are poor.
And the real cause of poverty is greed.
