Local good folks, R.E.I., sponsors wetlands cleanups about once a month. Mostly (last time) knocking down blackberry bushes, general trash removal, and it includes wetlands tree planting as well. Make sure and bring your heavy duty galoshes!!

I have been using a kind of compost toilet- waterless for the past year- my husband and I take 2 showers a week and we use 45 gallons of water a week for drinking and doing dishes. We decided to live in an RV and travel and try to conserve water and lower our carbon footprint. We plan to find land and start a smallholding using permaculture design.

I capture rain water and use it to water plants. I turn off the water while I shower. I leave items that need to be soaked in the sink so they fill up through hand washing, etc. I also use water or ice that needs to be dumped on plants. I also have desert landscaping.
