I agree with our brazilian protests, but I don't agree with this petition, I'm sorry! It is a short vision. Just pure business, for which Brazil agreed in anticipation and, much more important than that, Brazil is earning several benefits for hosting the World Cup. Just to say the least, there is a important data that proves that every country that hosts a World Cup, it's GNP ("PIB" in Brazil) increases at least 1% (on percent) more (than it would have increased) in the year of the...

So, come on, stop with the short vision and let's focus on the huge, immense benefits! Cheers!

I see your point Cesar, but I feel that you must start somewhere! Even if this petition doesn't solve all of the problems that go along with a country hosting the World Cup, it puts into motion a set of reforms that can build...it shows people that change is possible through collective action and inspires them to continue fighting for more justice.

Felicidades!

I've been to Brazil, an I'm sorry, I was not impressed. It seemed every woman wanted to get married! If a man was widowed, he had a lineup at his door. Emphasis was definitely not on education. A large percentage of a woman's income was spent on plastic surgery! And today, sadly, most Brazilians don't even know where Belo Monte is, let alone what is taking place there. The plight of indigenous peoples against the invasion of foreign multi-nationals to exploit their land is a tragedy, and the...

A large percentage of a woman's income was spent on plastic surgery! And today, sadly, most Brazilians don't even know where Belo Monte is, let alone what is taking place there. The plight of indigenous peoples against the invasion of foreign multi-nationals to exploit their land is a tragedy, and the lack of many Brazilians to the future of the environment in their own country and that of the world in general is more than disappointing. It reminds me so much of the US, many religious groups spreading their word like a cancer, while everyone dreams of being rich. Meanwhile, they are losing what is really and truly rich -- a healthy, verdant country full of wonders of wildlife and nature. Rapidly disappearing, because of mass greed.
