I love milk and diary product, but I do not want to be responsible for such actions. Milk can be taken from cows without taking away and killing their babies or killing any other form of life. This is what we should reach to! The laws on Diary farms and the system have to change in this regard !

Because of the HUGE demand of cow's milk, there's no way farms can let babies be with their moms because they'll be drinking all the milk and not enough to sell and they cannot keep the male ones, so they are killed. If you don't like what's happening to them, don't wait for a miracle, but just switch to other plant milks. There are soy milk (tastes great) , hemp milk (has Omega 3 and 6), Almond milk, rice milk. They come in vanilla, chocolate, plain and so yummy! You can also cook and bake...

There are so many vegan alternatives now that there's absolutely no reason to continue consuming dairy. Our family favorite is Flax milk. You can buy it at Sprouts and it's AWESOME!

I thought that most people realized that milk is meant for the baby cows and not for humans. Wouldn't it be sad if one day, through reincarnation, we became the cow or some other animal? I am serious about this. Wouldn't it be interesting if we all had a chance to be the cows, the sheep, the chickens and all the other animals that go through a horrible death for human consumption. Wouldn't that be interesting karma if those that hurt animals ended up BEING the animals in the next life?

soy milk taste 100 times better than anything that comes from an animal. no animals are mutilated or tortured or tormented or manipulated to produce soy milk. and its 100 times better for your body than the disease and poison and pus and blood and bacteria in your precious jug of milk.

Etian Chris, I agree with you but also with the others - however taste of cow milk is different from soy (which I like) and from other vegetal milks. Realistically, we can encourage people to become vegans, but this won't be enough. Is there a way to develop sustainable dairy production? Of course, slow down the consumption/ production will be the first thing, but are there labels for "sustainable dairy products or beef" ? I live in Europe (Italy and Sweden), and I have stayed in France for...

I live in Europe (Italy and Sweden), and I have stayed in France for 1 year and spent some holidays in the UK and Germany. However, I have just seen the "Organic" green label on chicken and sometimes on pork or beef, and of course on eggs or dairy products, but I am not sure that "Organic" means also that the animal are treated in the less possible painful way. Please let me know! Thank you a lot. Elisa

More respect & kindness to cows, drink soya, rice or almond milk. Change the laws of the dairy industry & be aware of what distress the mother & the calf goes thru....its time for massive changes

this is certainly the norm, but i don't think all dairy farmers do this. so if you want to drink milk and eat dairy then support the farmers who are lovin' their cows. check if your organic grass-fed, antibiotic-free dairy producers are practicing these. if they go thru all those other steps to prevent cruelty, they are most likely milking and allowing the babies to feed too. a mother will make enough. does anyone know about this. i want to call the number on the back of the organic milk i...

That is just disgraceful and so cruel. How can humans do that to innocent animals. That poor mother is in such distress and the little calf is looking for its mother. Something must be done to stop this abuse.

I Think most of you took me wrong. First of all I love milk and I would be an hypocrite saying that I don't. The fact is that now that I know what there is behind the industry of milk I really do not want to be part of this and I do not want, with my demand, feed the dirty industry. But at the same time I would love to be able to drink milk without having to kill thousands, millions of pure calves. It would be lovely if we could have milk without having to do this. May be just a dream, but...

May be just a dream, but it would be lovely. Any way, for now, since it is not possible to achieve my dream I will do all what I can to reduce my milk consumption if I do not know its source. I know that there are some other alternatives such as soy milk, which I love as well and I know that this is super healthy too. Unfortunately where I live soy milk is imported and it as expensive as gold that I cannot afford so I can only look at it with binoculars. All his as fully reduced my milk (cow:soy) consumption and I miss it.

I quit eating dairy almost 7 months ago. Feeling it was related to my health issues. Thank goodness for the info being shared these days. The cruelty part was at the top of this decision also. I can tell you on day 3 of no dairy, it was like I had just woken up after yrs of walking around asleep. Its devestating our health. I love almond milk. Im human, I miss cheese. It is not worth it to eat it anymore.

I'm ashamed to be human sometimes when I think what my species are capable of. All those people who become vegans doesn't seem to change anything, the whole dammed industry still goes on. You might feel good because you are vegan so this is only self satisfaction. Meat eaters have been around since year dot and dairy, it won't change I'm sad to say, but yes the young can be fed by its mother and shared with the world. Slaughtering the beast when they grow is something very different in one word INHUMANE!

I have recently become vegan and don't miss dairy at all.... still fine tuning things as I learn to cook without eggs and move towards a more raw menu. There are so many amazing substitutes out there. I've recently discovered So Delicious Dairy Free Coconut Coffee Cream. I've been serving it to my guests for a long time now without them batting an eye that it isn't a dairy product. It's not sweet either and no hint of coconut in coffee or tea in the slightest. Now my Mom and Dad use it...

Now my Mom and Dad use it faithfully in replacement of dairy cream. If people would just look into things more and realize their choices make a difference in the lives of the creatures we share our planet with the world would be a kinder place. This is a very sad video. Breaks my heart.
