I love milk and diary product, but I do not want to be responsible for such actions. Milk can be taken from cows without taking away and killing their babies or killing any other form of life. This is what we should reach to! The laws on Diary farms and the system have to change in this regard !

Because of the HUGE demand of cow's milk, there's no way farms can let babies be with their moms because they'll be drinking all the milk and not enough to sell and they cannot keep the male ones, so they are killed. If you don't like what's happening to them, don't wait for a miracle, but just switch to other plant milks. There are soy milk (tastes great) , hemp milk (has Omega 3 and 6), Almond milk, rice milk. They come in vanilla, chocolate, plain and so yummy! You can also cook and bake...

There are so many vegan alternatives now that there's absolutely no reason to continue consuming dairy. Our family favorite is Flax milk. You can buy it at Sprouts and it's AWESOME!

I thought that most people realized that milk is meant for the baby cows and not for humans. Wouldn't it be sad if one day, through reincarnation, we became the cow or some other animal? I am serious about this. Wouldn't it be interesting if we all had a chance to be the cows, the sheep, the chickens and all the other animals that go through a horrible death for human consumption. Wouldn't that be interesting karma if those that hurt animals ended up BEING the animals in the next life?

soy milk taste 100 times better than anything that comes from an animal. no animals are mutilated or tortured or tormented or manipulated to produce soy milk. and its 100 times better for your body than the disease and poison and pus and blood and bacteria in your precious jug of milk.

Etian Chris, I agree with you but also with the others - however taste of cow milk is different from soy (which I like) and from other vegetal milks. Realistically, we can encourage people to become vegans, but this won't be enough. Is there a way to develop sustainable dairy production? Of course, slow down the consumption/ production will be the first thing, but are there labels for "sustainable dairy products or beef" ? I live in Europe (Italy and Sweden), and I have stayed in France for...

I live in Europe (Italy and Sweden), and I have stayed in France for 1 year and spent some holidays in the UK and Germany. However, I have just seen the "Organic" green label on chicken and sometimes on pork or beef, and of course on eggs or dairy products, but I am not sure that "Organic" means also that the animal are treated in the less possible painful way. Please let me know! Thank you a lot. Elisa

I have always been unhappy with the thought of all those baby cows ending up in slaughter houses. I gave up meat 34 years ago. I gave up all dairy a year ago, apart from a tiny amount of milk in tea. Today I will be giving up that! I wasn't able to watch the video clip, it would distress me too much

Aucune considération pour ces bêtes qui nous nourrisent.Ces paysans on devrait leur prendre leur bébé cela les ferait peut-être réfléchir au mal qu'ils font.Tout cela pour du fric, aucune sensibilité.A bas l'humain.Sans lui la nature serait bien plus belle car c'est l'humain qui détruit tout.

I already have cut down on dairy (1 cup yogurt) and eat more veggies with calcium in it, and I only eat soft goat cheese; no hard cow cheese; it's not healthy for us anyway.

Humans are a cruel species....at least with these petitions we can expose the heinous treatment of animals who totally rely on humans for their care and respect, but neither are accorded.

I love dairy products and milk (skimmed). What can we buy instead? I am a vegetarian but like Etian, do not want to be responsible for this. Thanks

We love milk and milk products but when you think of the abuse and suffering that animals go through - it makes you want to try to stop it.

I have unfortunately known for quite some time on how this is. I unlike most was raised on a farm and therefore know that the baby is taken away from its mother way to soon. It broke my heart as a kid, and it still breaks my heart. What they don't show is how the mother will "cry" for her baby for days even a week after the separation. You cannot tell me that they don't feel. They do, they should leave the baby with the mother until it is at least old enough to eat grass, that is a whole...
