I will sign as many of 'Max's' petitions as needed. The officers should have DEFUSED to situation.THEY saw the guy walking around with this dog.DID they think the dog would just disappear?Lets say the guy places his dog in the car. The officers arrest the guy. What happens to MAX?He just stays in the car until his owner gets released from jail? What I'm getting at is,when a dog is on the scene, all persons involved have a responsibility to make sure the dog is taken care of.The person was not...

WHO just pulls out a gun to shot?Maybe we don't need that kind of people as police officers.THEN he continues to shoot as the dog is movingAWAY!EVERY police dept needs to revisit their protocol when dealing with animals. They need training by humane, experienced trainers. These officers brought this on themselves. They deserv

Unfortunately, Liz, Salmon saw an opportunity to get back at Rosdy, whom he recognized. I think he deliberately provoked this situation (look at his face: he's full of hatred!). As you said he has no business being in the police force, and neither have his colleagues!

Why did these cowardly bastards kill this puppy? It is easy to take control of any dog, without having to hurt it at all! I have saved Rottweilers, Pit bulls and other dogs from the street, by myself, with no weapons, it is all in your command of voice, and body language. I say fire the chicken shit bastards. They are pure cowards, hiding behind a gun. Take the gun, and they would be sniveling and pissing their pants!

Oh my god, the poor animal was coming to be with his owner, if they had just uncuffed him for a minute he could have put the dog back in the car with the windows further up. Why handcuff him anyhow, for taking a video on his phone - are handcuffs really necessary without any prior discussion? This is horrendous - an innocent animal is dead because some cop is trigger happy - disgusting!

I wish someone could post his ugly face all over the web so that as many people as possible could see him. No place in the world should be safe for him any longer; he is a vermin that shouldn't even be polluting the air we breathe!

I seen the video and cannot watch it again because my heart is broken. This poor dog showed no signs of aggressiveness. This cop should have to pay for this. It's a real pity that this happened.

As an ardent animal lover, I do not ever like to see this type of situation. However, I can in no way condemn the officer for shooting this menacing dog. If there is anyone to blame, it is the owner. He was obviously taunting the police. If he had any thought for the dog, knowing he was obviously a protective breed, he would have gotten him out of there and away from any altercation that would put the dog defense. The dog, true to his breed sought only to protect his stupid owner. But...

The dog, true to his breed sought only to protect his stupid owner. But the officer had every right to defend himself, and others (including the idiot owner) from the aggressive dog. I have been threatened by very aggressive, large pit bulls on foot and on horseback, and it is an experience that will make your blood run cold. I can say that if I had had a gun on those occasions, I would have shot to protect myself or my horse. No one should ever be in the position to have to defend against this type of fighting breed, who are capable of inflicting mortal wounds.

Ramona! I cannot believe that you,on one hand.say you are an" ardent animal lover" and then you cannot condemn the officer? You should go and watch it again. The dogs owner volunteered for the cuffs (with no charges) He put his dog in the car first. Due to the production while cuffing him,his dog became concerned and got out of the car.He only wanted to check on his "dad". He was even wagging his tail at the cops...This cop just opens fire and KEEPS SHOOTING. That was not necessary...

He was even wagging his tail at the cops...This cop just opens fire and KEEPS SHOOTING. That was not necessary either. One shot definitely would have slowed the poor dog down. Then he leaves it suffering and seizing in the middle of the street. He needs to be fired. I will do everything I can to make that happen. The very least they could have done ,if they were worried ,is they could have had the owner put him back in the car.He was not a flight risk.He volunteered for the cuffs after-all. I AM AN ARDENT ANIMAL LOVER!
