This is extreme negligence on the part of the police officers. They should have made sure the dog was secure and in a safe place before arresting his owner. Sad, sad, sad! Poor animal had to take gun fire...and what the heck are they doing hand cuffing someone right there in the street who seems to be just an on looker! What a total freakin disaster! God bless the poor animal who obviously suffered before dying! :(

My mother was a police officer. I "LOVE" and respect police officers. However, this was a senseless act of brutality. Mind you, I think the citizen who was arrested was "totally" out of line. I don't care if we as Americans possess the "right" to film police officers as they do their jobs, but come on. How blatantly disrespectful. I personally would not want anyone filming me while I was working. And why did he need to shout all those ridiculous things to the cops? He was IGNORANT...

He was IGNORANT "but" in NO way does his behavior warrant what happened to that poor dog. I am horrified. Cops are people too, just like the rest of us. And like us, they should be help accountable for their actions. I "imagine" the officer was fearful of being attacked and acted without thinking. However, officers "must" think before they act. ALWAYS. And, without seeing prior to the beginning of this video, it's hard to make a judgment about anything. Who knows, the man with the dog could have been the occupant of the home they were raiding, or something to that effect. Regardless, that poor dog was brutally murdered. I feel certain that Internal Affairs will hold the officer accountable. At least I hope so. HEARTBREAKING!!!!! </#

As much as i do agree the cops went over board on this, the guy blasting his radio at a police road block at a possible hostage situation, He made an already tense situation worse and potentially dangerous for the cops. The dog owner is as guilty or more so then the police.

I signed the petition and had second thoughts. Why was the man with the dog hanging around all those police cars. It appeared as though he was taunting the officers and deliberately endangering his pet. I abhor any cruelty to animals but feel that this didn't need to happen.
