I know animal control has a job to do but the person who took this picture could have easily rescued this dog. Stop sitting around thinking someone is going to do something and step up...if I saw this I would get a ladder, some bolt cutters, a slip lead and go get the dog no matter what...I might get arrested but it would be for good reason and I would surely know I did the right thing. Sitting around taking pictures waiting for animal control is not it....
I agree with you Dawn and would have done the same thing.
Absolutely on target, Dawn.
I agree with you Dawn! I would've broken in as well, but maybe the picture-taker was not able to do that physically... who knows? This story (and picture) breaks my heart. </3
what would you do if the dog ate your face off
I agree with Dawn....and about the dog eating your face off...William..you have to at least try to help. Your way of thinking is why the animal is dead. No one did anything. What if....blah blah...yeah what if! Typical head in the sand attitude!!
Im sure a dehydrated dog almost dead would have bit someone.
Dawn and Jacquelyn, you are both right! I thought the picture had been taken after the authorities got there, not by someone who could've helped! I would've taken the picture foir evidence, then I would've done something to help the dog. There is absolutely no reason for that dog to have died iof that was a nieghbor taking the pi, the dog, at that point, was suffering so bad from heat exhaustion it would lucky if it ws able to lift its head for a drink of water, let alone bite anyone anywhere!
Wow. Shocked and ashamed to see how many are focused on judging the person trying to help and not the owner responsible. SMH
Animals were put on earth to teach us unconditional love, we still have not learned...
Dawn, I agree completely! Our society has become too dependent on everything being done for us.If that person was close enough to take that picture and didn't help the dog, they should be prosecuted as well!!
Maybe they did..maybe after taking the pic they reported it so don't talk shit..
If Chris Gordon knew how to read he would find that is said, " after neighbors called numerous times." Its clear many knew and allowed it to happen. Maybe Chris was one. Sick MF.
Reporting after taking the picture and then doing nothing to help the dog in the meantime is inexcusable Chris. You can't wait around for others to do something when you should and can. End of story. Instead, the photographer took a pic, called someone, then went back into their air conditioned home. Fucking lame.
well said elke. i thought the same thing. you cant wait around for help. its too late.
I would have hopped the fence, freed the dog and taken it home with me!
THIS PERSON SHOULD HAVE THE SAME THING DONE TO THEM ......
What I can't believe is the fact that so many calls to the authorities were ignored and this dog died! Yes, the dog humans are ultimately responsible, but by not responding, the authorities are just as culpapable!
Read what I posted
At the very least poor cool water over it, and rig up some shade.
we all have to step up to the plte and help
The neighbor coulda tied a bucket of water to a rope and lowered it into the yard if they didn't want to jump the fence. It looks like it had a bucket tipped over.
I think that these situations need immediate action. The person who reported the incident, should of saved the dog. It was good she called in about the dog. I believe in these situations YOU should help the animal. I would do whatever it took & not look back. The owner's are the killers, people like that sicken me.
She couldn't but. Read what I posted
