The officer kept approaching the dog. My God. Let the man go put the dog back in the car for goodness sake. Officer was just waiting for his moment to fire. Watch his body language.

I'm glad I saw this. It makes me sick and I am really sorry I had to watch this video...the dog did absolutely nothing wrong until provoked by police. I'm glad I saw this video, and I am just sad that I can only sign the petition once...I'd sign it a million times if I could!!

THIS IS HORRIBLE!!! These Pigs were looking for trouble & when they couldn't find what they were looking for they went after the guy filming them. That poor dog just did what we ALL want our dogs to do if someone tries to hurt us!! All they had to do is let that guy talk to his dog & calm him down but they were too eager to shot!! THEY WERE JUST WRONG!! And to make things worse, they are such BAD SHOT THAT THEY COULDN'T KILL IT WITH ONE SHOT WHEN THE DOG WAS ONLY 5 FEET AWAY!!! BS!! If they...

Brings To Mind what happened with the Rodney King Beating, A bystander tapped the officers misuse of authority, when trying to apprehend Mr. King, The officers were so mad when they could not stop Mr. King while he was driving his car! They used way too much force to subdue Mr. King. The resulting misuse in the beating that took place upon Rodney king! Thus we have again witnessed the use of uncalled for deadly force!! That officer should be fired from the force, (his excuse) "Oh! I was...

When in reality the dog was protecting his master! (A Natural instinct of the Pet towards his master)!!!

Kayla and Wayne you are both right, except the owner put his dog in jeopardy; it was bound to go wrong, the owner had an attitude and he didn't take his dog into account for his actions, my heart goes out to the dog and I'm angry at both owner and the cops for lack of thought.

At the very best, this is an example of poor or insufficient training. On it's face it looks like incompetence in the position. This guy should probably be relieved of duty.

I raised Rott's this dog was doing what came natural to him he was trying to protect his owner, I blame the owner, he provoked the the police then placed his dog in the car with the window opened, of course the dog would jump out to protect his owner, a full size male rot is a formidable sight without provocation, the innocent animal only saw his master being treated wrongly and acted; without knowing the animal the officer did what he thought best. I am angry at the owner; you want to play...

I am angry at the owner; you want to play games with authority, leave your dog home where he can be safe. You caused the death of a sweet dog, I could see he was a good dog and only did what a good protector would do. As for the cops, you should have told him to secure the dog properly before you hand cuffed the man. Hurting an innocent dog, didn't get back at him for being an ass, it made you look like killers with no heart. The dog was not at fault. Police need to show more intelligence and less testosterone!
