Wouldn't it have been humane ( since shooting the animal was number one priority for cop 3 on site) to shoot poor destined Max with a vital shot, once? Once between the eyes, not the gut, ribs, intestines, and non vital organs 4 times? Was all the suffering really inp

I guess I wasn't signing this one because there was another petition for this same issue that had 10 times the signatures. Though I did look at them both and see that the other one was only to the Police Chief, so it made sense to have this one too.

Ok its sad the dog got shot for defending his dad but you could see that Leon Rosby's car wasn't a enclosed place to put his dog the window was down and though I think they should evaluate the training in officers I don't think ruining this officers life is something that should be done for this poor dog.

Scene. Yahoo, something to shoot. How inappropriate, shoot the mans dog. Now this policeman has a place in history.

This was a very calm and gentle animal. Apparently the third policeman on site was ready to use his gun. Shooting Max must have been quite satisfying to the third cop on s

I cannot condone the dog owners behavior because his actions put his "best friend" in jeopardy, but the police could have and should have used non lethal force to subdue the dog, or just gotten the hell away from the dog altogether. Even letting the handcuffed owner loose to calm his dog would have worked, he was handcuffed with 2 dozen cops right there, its not like he could get away !

How about the cop being irresponsible for not using other tactics rather than killing the innocent dog with 4 shots??? Seriously? 4 shots.

The dog was not to blame, he was defending his owner from what he thought was trouble. The cop was not to blame, he did not want to get bit. The man, "Leon", should have done the prudent thing and tied his dog in the car or rolled the window up halfway. Sad that he let this happen to the poor dog. Cop or not, no one want to get bit by a big dog like that. Too bad people want to blame the cops. I blame the guy not minding his own business. I will not be turning my page purple, sorry.
