Hideous. That dog was of medium size, and didn't look vicious, only as if he was demonstrating the usual loyalty dogs have for their owners. The man gave himself up voluntarily, and beyond the fact that fact that the dog seemed able to be restrained without being killed, what looked like sheer cruelty was the way the officer shot him repeatedly and then just stood back calmly, holding his fire while he WATCHED the dog writhe in pain. Why wouldn't he at least "finish off" the animal he...

Why wouldn't he at least "finish off" the animal he put in great pain in the first place?...That looked VERY sadistic. No one wants a sick, sadistic individual "officially" carrying a badge and a gun.

Totally agree! Take away the gun before he shots another innocent bystander. This is outrageous. That insect of a human should be shot and left to die slowly...

That officer have NO self control and needs to be FIRED! There were people around who could have EASILY been harmed from gunshots being fired for No Reason! ANY officer who pulls their gun so quickly and without good cause, Does Not Deserve To Serve THE PEOPLE.

Wow! That's quite an assessment. 4 times Max came at them. I believe the police showed remarkable self control. I know that there might have people off screen and in the line of fire, but there was nobody on screen and in the line of fire. Trust me, when a large, powerful dog, of the type that is frequently used for guard dog, is coming right at you, 4 times (one time being to within a foot or less of your body) the shots are not "for no reason". I disagree with your last statement. The...

I disagree with your last statement. The officer saw a real, potential threat (large dog who's owner was being held by the police) and responded as he should have. I'm pretty sure he didn't pull his gum thinking, "Oh goody, I get to shoot a big dog. Wait 'till I get his head mounted on my wall." Is that what you think he was thinking? Max's health and safety still set squarely on the shoulder of Max's owner.

the dog was only protecting his own, handled badly by the police, I think they need more training so this does't happen again. If I was the owner I would be so angry.

That is 100% wrong and cruel, that man gave himself up an let the police arrest him, all the police had to do was let the man go an put his dog back in the car or tie the dog up it was so simple. what the police did is a terrible thing and to just let the dog"max" suffer right in front of his owner is the worst part and the officer(s) that shot max should be punished for his actions. NEWS FLASH, AN ANIMAL IS A LIVING CREATURE WITH FEELINGS JUST LIKE YOU AND I, but you already know that right...

NEWS FLASH, AN ANIMAL IS A LIVING CREATURE WITH FEELINGS JUST LIKE YOU AND I, but you already know that right because when a police dog gets killed by someone the person responsible gets charged with killing an office, how is that right.. The police force needs to find another way to treat Animals, They will use rubber bullets an taser's on humans but just shoot an kill a helpless animal...WTF IS THE DIFFERENCE? I would love for an officer to tell me. I have a blue nose pit bull, he is the sweetest pit ever I don't know what I would do if I was in that mans shoes an my heart goes out to him.

Quick draw magoo. That dog was not viciuou. That cop reached fr it ,and anyone that knows dogs ,you do not try to touch them on top of head, its an aggressive move to do that.Had a Max once ,I told a man not to try touching him ,he put his hand out and got snapped at. He then told me he knew better and was his fault.

It should have never gotten to this. they should have let the man leave. He did nothing wrong except voice his opinion. In my opinion this dog is a hero, he gave his life protecting his master. As much as any cop dog.

The police new he had his dog with him. They should have let him have the opportunity to make arrangements for his pet. What they did was wrong. This was cruel and inhumane!

Why was there an arrest in the first place, the man did not seem to be doing anything wrong...would not happen in UK, if the officers had objected to him filming they should have politely asked him to stop. The officers actions were a disgrace to his uniform and shows how cowardly some officers are, there was no threat to his life, the dog was merely reacting to a situation where his master was threatened and any loving and loyal pet would have reacted the same way especially when the...

The officers actions were a disgrace to his uniform and shows how cowardly some officers are, there was no threat to his life, the dog was merely reacting to a situation where his master was threatened and any loving and loyal pet would have reacted the same way especially when the assault on the man by way of arrest was totally unwarranted. Shame on this police department.
