Hideous. That dog was of medium size, and didn't look vicious, only as if he was demonstrating the usual loyalty dogs have for their owners. The man gave himself up voluntarily, and beyond the fact that fact that the dog seemed able to be restrained without being killed, what looked like sheer cruelty was the way the officer shot him repeatedly and then just stood back calmly, holding his fire while he WATCHED the dog writhe in pain. Why wouldn't he at least "finish off" the animal he...

Why wouldn't he at least "finish off" the animal he put in great pain in the first place?...That looked VERY sadistic. No one wants a sick, sadistic individual "officially" carrying a badge and a gun.

Totally agree! Take away the gun before he shots another innocent bystander. This is outrageous. That insect of a human should be shot and left to die slowly...

That officer have NO self control and needs to be FIRED! There were people around who could have EASILY been harmed from gunshots being fired for No Reason! ANY officer who pulls their gun so quickly and without good cause, Does Not Deserve To Serve THE PEOPLE.

Wow! That's quite an assessment. 4 times Max came at them. I believe the police showed remarkable self control. I know that there might have people off screen and in the line of fire, but there was nobody on screen and in the line of fire. Trust me, when a large, powerful dog, of the type that is frequently used for guard dog, is coming right at you, 4 times (one time being to within a foot or less of your body) the shots are not "for no reason". I disagree with your last statement. The...

I disagree with your last statement. The officer saw a real, potential threat (large dog who's owner was being held by the police) and responded as he should have. I'm pretty sure he didn't pull his gum thinking, "Oh goody, I get to shoot a big dog. Wait 'till I get his head mounted on my wall." Is that what you think he was thinking? Max's health and safety still set squarely on the shoulder of Max's owner.

police are mostly love to fire gun is make them feel great .and they are mostly stupid anyway that is why they want to be a police person to be in the uniform allow them to be stupid the way they act.. this is why I do not like cop not a bit.

Still, I feel that among other things he might have a case for claiming this as a racist action as well as cruelty to the poor baby they killed.

Killing Max was a retaliation against his owner, pure and simple and having him watch his beloved dog writhe and suffer was icing on the cake. The Officer got his "evens" by killing the dog in the cruelest way he could.

Why is it so hard to see through the police officers eyes and why is it so easy to judge when most of you have zero risk in your life. That dog could have done some serious damage to the officer. Here's an idea, instead of signing a petition, why don't all the petition signers take a risk and join the police department. Oh wait, that means you would have to actually put yourself in harms way and make real life and death decisions. You need to learn how to be objective to the situation and not let your emotions rule your world.

Before the police are set loose on the street carrying deadly weapons and being given the authority to exercise power over other citizens - including the power to arrest someone, they are supposed to have EXtensive TRaining. According to Huff Post there was already a conflict between the dog's owner, Leon Rosby, and the police. The police were looking for a way to pick on that man. They police let THeir emotions and bias get in the way of treating that particular citizen the same as they were trained to treat any citizen. No one said being a cop is an easy job, but there's no excuse for using unnecessary lethal force.

This Police Officer was completely out of order. The dog's owner had taken him and put him in the car when the Police approached him, hardly an aggressive act. When Max saw his owner being manhandled by 3 Police Officers he did what any dog would do to protect his Master. Max still had his leash on and the Police could have grabbed the leash and controlled the dog in a humane way but instead this Trigger Happy Cop simply pulled out his firearm and pumped 4 or more bullets into him. Max still had his leash on and the Police could have grabbed the leash and controlled the dog in a humane way but instead this Trigger Happy Cop simply pulled out his firearm and pumped 4 or more bullets into him. It was noted that the dog's owner did not show any aggression to the Police at all during the shooting. There is no place in any Police Department for a Trigger Happy Thug like this Officer, next time it may be your Son or Daughter he pumps 4 rounds into. As for Criminal Threats made against the Officer involved.....what do you expect when he himself is guilty of an outright Criminal Act.
