Some years ago I was at Sea World in Florida. My friend and I were having a blast. We walked, played and laughed in the sun while our poor husbands had to go to a conferance, the reason we were all there. We were walking past a huge pool. "Pet the Porpoise" on the sign so we walked over. She was chicken but I reached into the pool to pet the animal up against the side of the tank. When I touched the porpoise and looked into her eye I was shocked like she was electric. I was shocked and...

"Pet the Porpoise" on the sign so we walked over. She was chicken but I reached into the pool to pet the animal up against the side of the tank. When I touched the porpoise and looked into her eye I was shocked like she was electric. I was shocked and suddenly I was stricken with sadness and desperation. She was begging for something and in a few moments I realized what it was -- freedom. She wanted the same freedom we all enjoy and take for granted. Those animals are out prisoners and they suffer. They've been seperated from their loved ones and thrown into a world they don't know and they hate. What is done with these animals is criminal. We have enough film and pictures -- we don't need to imprison and torture these intelligent animals. FREE THEM!

Free them you say, but what about the ones that were born and raised in captivity? What about the ones that were taken into captivity because they were injured or sick? Did you account for them? Do you realize that releasing them into the wild is basically sending them to their deaths? Free them you say, but what about the ones that were born and raised in captivity? What about the ones that were taken into captivity because they were injured or sick? Did you account for them? Do you realize that releasing them into the wild is basically sending them to their deaths? Releasing them, when they are so used to captivity, is almost torture to them and torture to the people that built special bonds with them. Signing this means that you want hundreds, if not thousands, of animals get basically sentenced to death. It's great that you care, it really is. But you're not seeing the big picture. These animals are used to captivity. They will end up being too interested in human activities and, with all of the whalers that are out there, will increase their chances of getting killed. Is that what you want, releasing these animals only for them to not last very long? Again, it's great that you care, as I love these animals too, but open your eyes to the cruel reality.

This is a great campaign. After learning more about the issue I can't believe how small their tanks are and I'm happy to join this campaign!

did you know they did release orca back into the sea from many years in captivity and HE DIED...Peoples DON'T seem to understand ''Yes it's NOBLE'' to Do that for Orcas but Realistically because of a lot of contact with humans they WON'T survive back in the wild. IF you Done your Research you would know they CAN'T survive pod! You should see story of Keiko the Orca....Years went into his release back into the wild and they Finally got to release him to where he was coming from but soon after...

SHOULD DO MORE RESEARCH then just ''trapped in small pens, etc...'' how bout the ramifications of them NOT surviving in the wild cuz of Human contact. Ever think of that??? Guess NOT!

He didn't die because he had contact with humans. Perhaps it's YOU that should do your research.

It will be necessary to readapt them to wild life, and it's absolutelly possible to be done! The main point is that this costs $, and governments doesn´t like to spend money with this kind of procedure!

And do you know WHY he died Lilithia? Because the people who released him made NO effort to locate his pod, which was still around and would have accepted him back into the family. He was released and left alone. Completely alone. THAT is why he died.

Lot of people thought about it and it is difficult: its known now that they have to bring them near their family and its true this needs more research but it is possible if they can locates the original group.

The main thing is: there need to be programs made to release them back and it must be forbidden to keep them in captivity this way. So this whole industry should use its money for better purposes, like tracking the animals when released and than inform the people about their real life instead of the zoo tactic they tried to entertain public over the than boring lives of these special creatures that are born to have such a great range available. They own the sea, we don't now shit about it yet.
