Personally I try and make a difference every dive I do in North land-kerikeri...It may not seem a lot but it's the thought that counts for me...picking up that piece of rubbish be it a plastic bait bag disposed from a boat or a piece of metal that is sure to take years to fully return to the earth , in becoming a instructor I hope to set a good example for all the great people I hope to teach in the future =).

That's my list for this month (although I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of things). If anybody has questions about any of these or needs a resource to learn about any of these topics, let me know (I do feel obligated to my nieces and nephews to concentrate on #13). Remember, each of these behavior changes can actually be a TON OF FUN, especially if you like to challenge yourself and are competitive! My beautiful wife, Natalie Stavas, and I have fun checking on our foods together. :)

all that AND - I will work to eliminate tons of material donated to non-profit organizations. I will help them redeploy unneeded items instead of simply filling landfills. Well, except the red wolf video - I'll leave that to you Jeff ;-)

You go Jeff! Maybe you could leave out eating seafood? Well, just sayin' ;) Here I don't allow any non-green cleaning items, haven't for ages. Thanks for bringing up the turning off lights issue, I forget sometimes, so I'm going to write it on my wrist till it becomes automatic. I wish I could do more for the Panther, it's been a horrible month of deaths, and believe it or not there's a man now in federal custody for killing one with a crossbow! Well, it's a federal crime so he's going to do...

We try to be as "green" as possible with our new little one. We are in LOVE with cloth diapering. We only have one very small bag of trash A MONTH.

We started using cloth napkins this year, saves so much money on paper towels and I really realized how many paper towels we throw away each day. Also started using reusable snack and sandwich bags. Everyone can make small changes for a cleaner earth!

Also, I'm loving how green ISU and the city of Ames is. The city burns trash for energy, the campus has solar powered trash compactors, and a great bus system that runs on soy-diesel. The city overall has a very clean appearance, more so than I can say for DSM or Iowa City.
