Family planning methods to be used to cut down on population explosion. All gardens to be used to improve quality food production for the family.

When I moved to NH my wife used to throw out a lot then I started recycling. I recycle at least 2 buckets a week.

I only throw out maybe a half a bag of mostly food scraps. I wish I could compost but, I don't think the neighbors would like that too much.

You can easily compost in an old flower pot. Add a small amount of soil, then organic scraps of food, cover with more soil and then add a bit of water. cover all with a black garbage bag. Add to it until the pot is full. It is key to cover all organic food scraps completely. When it is full place it in a corner of your garden for about 2 months. Open it and you fill find the best soil ever!!!! Never use inorganic material like meat or any meat by products. They draw flies! I've used cucumber...

I've used cucumber peels, apple cores, carrot peels, apple peels, banana peels and potato peels, plus some leaves and got lovely rish brown soil which I used to plant my geraniums. Good luck!!!

Put together a compost tumbler last night! Have a rain barrel on it's way and will be starting a garden as well! :)

You don't need "acreage" to grow a lot of good food. Even a small plot can produce a lot. Here's what my 10' x 10' front yard garden looks like in early summer. Isn't that prettier than plain ol' grass?

Walmart sells a five gallon solar shower bag--put about four gallons of water in the black bag and lay it in the sunshine for a few hours, and then hang the bag from the ceiling of your shower or in a tree outside. The water will help the tree grow and you will not have used any petroleum products in heating the water, only direct sunshine on the bag. In the winter place the bag on a window sill. Four gallons allows me to wash my hair twice--you only use water to rinse yourself. Also, in cold weather you can plug the bathtub or shower stall drain and save the warm water for a few hours till it cools thereby helping to heat your house! And use a bicycle--I gave up motor vehicles about five years ago, love it, just turned 60. Older folks can use an electric motorized tricycle, won't lose their balance and can haul groceries.
