Hard for some to admit they have PTSD. I hope they decide to reach out for help. VA has some clinics from what I understand that specalizes in PTSD. Hope more will chose to use this resource.

Also, check out the DAV and Iraqi-Afghanistan Veterans of America (http://iava.org/). Here's another great link: http://www.getheadstrong.org/for-veterans/ It has a direct Helpline to VA PTSD resources for I-A vets

I have come to the conclusion that there is no help for us. I did my tour in 2009-2010 in Afghanistan and was med board out of the army in January of this year in the 7 months that I have been out I have been to jail twice and lost my wife of 14 years. When I asked for help it seemed to me that the door was slammed in my face. I have been diagnosed with PTSD and there is no one here willing to help. I understand that I have to help myself but having someone around to help with the really bad...

I have not been in the military but I suffer from it too, so I understand and it helps to talk to people who do understand. so if you need to talk I am here.

Anyone who mocks us, needs a good education on why we are the way we are by going where we've been, doing what we've done and seeing what we've seen. We're not crazy, we're wounded.-Nuff said

there needs to be more awareness of this just like people post about cancer. They don't get it until they seen it up close and personal.

It's a very serious thing, not a joke.

Beverly, the stigma of PTSD gets passed a long by stupid jokes. One of the worst is that PTSD is not real. It's just another way to milk the system.

Another is that if you have PTSD, you are weak... or crazy to start with.

I hired a law firm to represent me in a divorce. The law firm was my worst enemy. It openly used my PTSD against me, so they could over-charge me, bill me falsely, come to court unprepared, etc, etc etc. I kid YOU NOT...

Who would believe a 'Rambo-type-vet' against the word of a powerful law firm?
