If America does not want to honor or respect our returning Vets from what ever time era we should not be making war for them to become Veterans. I'm a Vietnam Vet, I'm still waiting for my welcome home. That's 45 years of waiting and now I could care less. But don't do this to our other Vets.
I am also a Vietnam Vet and I do care. I finally got a welcome home from the State of NC last year.
The War Memorials should never be closed as they were paid for in blood, sweat and tears by our Vets. This is another slap in the face by our leaders if you can call them that.
Having the VA was a good start but way more is needed now!!
As I understand it, The History of America shows that our Men and Women have stepped up and "Devoted" their Lives at times, to for the United States of America! During a Soldiers Tenure in the service of their country, "All gave some, some gave all." Their are tales of Bravery, Courage, Risking their Life, for their Brother's and Sister's in Arms.
Raymond Rowley, Stephen N Russell doesn't want any other vet to ever experience what the Viet Nam vets came home to. Maybe we shouldn't have been there, maybe we should have, but in any case, the way the Viet Nam vets were treated is shameful! It must not ever happen again!!!
You don't get thank you enough for your service. But then so was our Vietnam veterans were mistreated.
I served 21 years an
they deserve ALOT MORE then a welcome home cause if it weren't for all them we wouldn't have the freedem we take for grated
I can home But there is a feeling that I must share. We are honored but some place we are still not welcome . some place we are looked at like we do not belong or can not live there But I still have to honor the country for the one that did not come home. I gave I bless and thankfull
we must pressure congress and President, to honor our Viet Nam Vets. They are the forgotten ones.
