I live in Kitt Green and know the Pines well as i worked at Mayfield for many years. It is a great home and should not be closed my Auntie Margaret was in their for many years, the residents do build relationships with other residents and staff and gain strong bonds with them. Its terrible that this home could be closed in October I belive it should be kept open and the residents remain in a settled and home enviroment especailly if they have no family of their own. KEEP THE PINES OPEN.
Having no Family or Kin must be of deep concern not only to those who are in that experience but also to those who can influence some improvements.
I know nothing about this situation! Why are the residents being moved out? Are they selling the Pines?
I hope you succeed in your campaign to prevent this closure which is yet again putting money ahead of people's lives. xx
To close the Pines knowing that their are people with no next of Kin is beyond belief. I agree with some of the comments made who say I am afraid of getting old. Wouldn't it be nice if a kind benefactor came along with the finance to keep it open.
I really empathise and am disgusted at the way the vulnerable older generation are abused. It makes me feel afraid to get old and to be in need of any type of help.
Will those responsible for closing this because of financial reasons even care these poor people have nowhere and no one? Of course they won't.
Local authorities can't be bothered with the old and disabled, all over the coountry they are being treated worse than animals.
Greater Manchester authorities....Shameless!
Out of order no one should b made to leave thinking of them all xx
