It matters so much wherever we are - this is our doorstep...and the rest of the world too.
If you have no next of kin or family then you really need some Advocacy support to get your views heard, particularly on something as fundamental as this.
I am not in Manchester but I do know of a similar situation in the east of London and the stress this causes people who may struggles to comprehend what is happening
All adults with a learning disability and without family have access to an independent advocate. This should be secured for all those involved
We are living under a seriously dangerous Tory government. This is just a beginning of the terrible evil policies that these 'people' are capable of. We must stand up to them and get them removed from office ASAP.
I agree Brian. This is disgraceful, do the government realise the Hell they have caused for many thousands of people? What they are doing is inhumane and against Discrimination laws and Human rights laws! Which I though is a criminal offense, so is the Government above the law?
I live in Kitt Green and know the Pines well as i worked at Mayfield for many years. It is a great home and should not be closed my Auntie Margaret was in their for many years, the residents do build relationships with other residents and staff and gain strong bonds with them. Its terrible that this home could be closed in October I belive it should be kept open and the residents remain in a settled and home enviroment especailly if they have no family of their own. KEEP THE PINES OPEN.
Having no Family or Kin must be of deep concern not only to those who are in that experience but also to those who can influence some improvements.
I know nothing about this situation! Why are the residents being moved out? Are they selling the Pines?
I hope you succeed in your campaign to prevent this closure which is yet again putting money ahead of people's lives. xx
