Bullying robs a person of their self-esteem. A lack of self-esteem can lead to poor attendance and poor grades in school, withdrawal, social isolation, depression and even suicidal thoughts. Why would anyone want to subject a person to this type of behavior? How would a "bully" feel if the shoe was on the other foot?

The Bully—has an issue with fitting in. They are insecure. If you follow them home—you will see ‘why’ they do what they do? They are underachievers. Their claim to fame—“is that of being a Bully—“a somebody? They feel like they are less than. Nevertheless—this conduct cannot be continued—they must be disciplined and psychologically counseled—in an effort to change negative behavior to positive. Make Sense?

Bullying in my opinion is a failure of both the parents and the schools in general hopefully through more awareness this type of behavior can stop and through cooperation we can breed better understanding of each other. To be the same would be boring, I think it is great that we are all different and this should be looked as a good thing not something to be picked on.

My son is a really really nice kid. But, were does it end? What is the right thing to do, you teach your child to respect your elders, have patience, to love your fellow man, in a world that has none of these values anymore? I do wonder why I ever thought to teach him these things, because we live in a world that devours the weak and kills the young, and steal from our fellow man. A world that mistakes kindness for weakness. We all Need to teach our children to have respect and love , because if we don't teach them these things. Then children will have to learn from society and the prison system.

In a perfect world, all children would be able to look passed each others flaws and become good friends. Unfortunately, between the judgmental attitudes children learn from the adults around them and the peer pressure to conform, bullying continues to scar countless children well into adulthood. The idea that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger is flawed for the very fact that if you haven't developed the strength to deal with the conflict, it will only weaken you.

I've never understood how learning to be a victim is supposed to prepare you to stand up for yourself.

I have a great nephew that is a jr in High School, and is currently being bullied by the security guard. Can you believe that? He is t rying to get him to quit school. The guard never liked my nephews sister, and got into it on more than one time, so now he's taking it out on my nephew. Sounds like LPS needs to take a good look at who or what is being a security gurad in Lincoln Public Schools, Northstar High School. If I get my way, I am going to talk to the head of LPS, and if that...

If I get my way, I am going to talk to the head of LPS, and if that doesn't get him to stop, then I'm going to the news media. I will stick up for my nephew. To me he is the greatest, his Dad just passed away, so he has a lot going on in a fifteen year olds mind, he doesn't need someone grabbing his shirt and telling him how he doesn't need to be in school here!
