I just read the article and it's so sad. I don't know what's wrong with American police that they seem to think they can do whatever they want and go around shooting people's pets in their own gardens, etc, for no apparent reason. It's appalling. Here in England I've never heard of the police doing such awful things to animals. Also, I find it interesting that the neighbour of Diamond supposedly only called the police because she thought Diamond might 'need help', yet the article says...

It's appalling. Here in England I've never heard of the police doing such awful things to animals. Also, I find it interesting that the neighbour of Diamond supposedly only called the police because she thought Diamond might 'need help', yet the article says Diamond just came around to the front yard to greet her owner when she returned home so why on earth the neighbor would think Diamond would need help is inexplicable. I think maybe the neighbor is lying and was wary of Diamond because of her breed or whatever. Shame on the police AND the ignorant neighbor for what they've done. They should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves. An innocent, sweet nursing dog was brutally killed by them, and thanks to them. MORONS.

(some)TRIGGER HAPPY LOSER COPS all over America, smh it keeps getting worse :( To me it is an excuse to use their weapon!! It is probably a small town and not much adult action, so they blow away innocent nursing mothers.

This is a terrible, terrible tragedy. I am generally very pro-police. Certainly not in this case.

So sad that people judge this dog based on its breed, instead it as an indivual dog. This is upsetting cause so much negative about this breed but what the positive things that are being done with this breed. Let help by saving this breed. Make a difference and vote.

These threats by the police dept are the prime example of why people are afraid to stand together and say anything about any unjust situation! More people need to step up then maybe something will actually get accomplished to stop these such events against the innocent!

I heard also from other US-states that police is killing pets in their own yards! Stop this ignorance against people and animals. Police has to be there to help and not to kill!!

They need to be held as responsible as anybody else, if they wrongfully shot this poor baby, someone need to pay for there mis-actions! (Police or not, I mean ANYONE!)
