Can anyone imagine a clearer example of insanity by putting the Great Barrier Reef into so much danger. How long must we put up with the almighty dollar taking precedence over the environment. I'd like my little great grand daughter to be able to take her children to see this most beautiful and treasured place. We must act now and protect it for ever! I'm delighted to support this petition, but saddened that it's necessary!

Governments think they know everything. So why rely on the public always. They steal our money in taxes, then waste it on themselves. More private companies and people do more for this planet than any Government and its fancy ideas good ever do. Stop the "Red Tape" and do,act, give results and not defaults, all you so called Country leaders. Stop your glorified meetings(we gonna do this, we gonna do that) and dirty your hands. Get out there and DO.

The Great Barrier Reef belongs to the planet and the inhabitants of the seas as much as to any political government. The destruction may be happening out of sight of most, but it is a dreadful loss for humanity and once destroyed will probably be gone forever. This is just not good enough. Australia has nothing to brag about when it comes to their Animal Protection and Animal Rights. Time to make a far more concerted effort to protect the greater animal kingdom.
