This has to stop. New York City is the worst offender, the people who work at the delis have no idea whats going on. Bloomberg should sponsor a PSA of some sort.

i still use plastic bags we eddit for this bags i know it spoils our natur bot i cant first avout shops to giving plastic bags ancrage to give cotton bags

That is just the take home your grocery bags. Now add the trash bags folks buy, lawn bags, trash can bags, ziplock bags... And lets not forget, those thin produce bags, all the plastic that the food is actually packed in, shrink wrap, and my favorite, bags in bags, like chips in bags, packed into bigger bags. Even using our cloth bags we end up with tons of plastic to discard. I've been putting them in the recyling bins.

We are in deep folks, More conscious effort from more of us is great. But we need a system change. Local living is in our future, by choice to mitigate the situation, or by force if we don't get it right soon.

San Jose has banned plastic bags. People whined about it at first but now they are getting used to taking their recyclable tote bags wherever they shop. This is a step towards a greener city.
