Its sad to see those plastic bags on the side of the road. They hang from natural beauty of nature.

I take used ones back to store for recycle -- keep forgetting to take my "green" bags to store -- need to try and get that set as a routine when I go shopping!!!

Thomas, all you have to do is keep them in your car so that you'll never forget them! :-)

I always bring my own. If you go to any street fairs or festivals there are always booths giving out free shopping bags to advertise. I have lots of them. If I forget, I just take whatever I buy out in my hand.

I do, (and have been for years, now), #'s 2 & 3 and they both work quite well, (I've been a Vegetarian since 1976 also and that helps too)!!!!! ;)

When I was in Mexico 25 years ago, everyone brought their own bags, and if you did not, you had to pay for each bag. They sure are ahead of us on that issue.

reduce, reuse, recycle.... we need a sign in a market so people get the idea, if they don't make another one at the exit, if they still don't get it place a huge sign outside with the facts!.. if they continue to ignore place it on there car window saying, "it's thanks to your ignoring that we have plastic bags everywhere!"

I use cloth reusable shopping bags, however there must be a way to melt down plastic bags and reuse. I think just no one has found a 'profitable' way to do that. It's always $$$$ !

I did my R&R from Vietnam in August 69 in Singapore; I thought one of the cleanest cities I have ever been in.. the fine for littering is about $500 US in 1969 then not sure now littering was a major hit if caught

many stores (like Kroger's ) that give plastic bags have recycle bin; if u return same to store will help; also some stores still ask paper or plastic in some cases
