Plastic bags and plastic rings that hold a 6 pack together create long, agonizing death in the wildlife that gets entrapped in our junk, we don't even bother to throw it away safely. Always cut the 6 pack rings so no neck or beak can get stuck in them.

In South Africa you have to pay for your plastic bags so every one is always aware and carrying their own even if it is re using the supermarket bags again. That is what we do and that means recycling the very bags we are trying to get out of the fills.

When I was in Mexico 25 years ago, everyone brought their own bags, and if you did not, you had to pay for each bag. They sure are ahead of us on that issue.

reduce, reuse, recycle.... we need a sign in a market so people get the idea, if they don't make another one at the exit, if they still don't get it place a huge sign outside with the facts!.. if they continue to ignore place it on there car window saying, "it's thanks to your ignoring that we have plastic bags everywhere!"

I use cloth reusable shopping bags, however there must be a way to melt down plastic bags and reuse. I think just no one has found a 'profitable' way to do that. It's always $$$$ !
