Don't have much to donate...but figure if everyone would give as little as a dollar how much that would add up to and help. My heart has gone out to these people and what's happened to them and their lives...Sometimes I think if this would happen here in USA and how unprepared any of us would be to survive such conditions. I cannot imagine anyone living the way these folks are forced to live...and pray things get better.
Rosalind, ECI, and the Congolese organizations we partner with, appreciate any donation, no matter how small.
I do agree that how long we as a country have allowed this to go on boarders on criminal, and should be revisited after the region is stabilized.
I think, if we (USA) waited for stabilization, any and ALL affected countries would no longer be those countries, they would be named something else. There are numerous examples of renamed countries already.
yes I realize that, and im talking about revisiting our country's willingness to remain uninvolved. I said we should wait to take up that issue after stablization.
Congo is have severe difficulties with conservation. Eastern lowland gorillas are disappearing faster than mountain gorillas. Forest elephants are being poached at an alarming rate. Arboreal primates are being hunted at unsustainable levels for bushmeat. In order for there to be conservation, there must be political stability and economic equality. Congo has not known political stability, since the days before King Leopold II.
Take this off my face book
I think it is nice to see someone in Hollywood who wants to make a footprint, these people are survivors, I commend them and the work Ben Afleck is doing with this organization.
Everyone should have a chance at a decent life.
most of you know I have worked in Goma, Eastern Congo with dear friends Esther and Camile Ntoto. What Ben A is doing is a very good thing- spotlighting the horriffic situations the local people are in due to war; helping to create economic opportunity, and teach the children. this is what my friends do too at AFrica New Day.org.. help where you feel led by God but please do something. thank you
This cause is important to me because these people deserve a chance at life. A good life. God created us all as equals & to help those who cannot help themselves. God sent His only son to die for us, now we need to repay that debt by helping these poeple & all of those just like them. Pay it Forward is what we truly need to do to show that there is some goodness in this world yet!
I've always been a fan.But know also admirer out makes my heart swell to know u are among the people who have the money and are helping others
